Okay, I'm almost ready for REW, BFD, KFC, ABC.........

Greetings from BC, Canada - I thought I would take the plunge after lurking around here for a while! I stumbled across this forum over at AVS - and thought that it would be a great place for me to learn about calibrating the HT build I'm in the throes of.

Background: IT field, married, two boys, huge mortgage.....

HT Background: Currently in DIY HT 2.0 - the last one was pretty much an Infocus X1 shooting on drywall with a beater couch. New house, new HT! Currently, I'm building out a 12.5X20 ft room in the basement, with stage, risers, sconces and hopefully acoustic treatments as I near the end.

Equipment:

Optoma HD72 FPJ
Sony STR-DE945 AVR
Sony STR-DE325 (Driving four Aura BassShakers)
Toshiba HD-A2 HDDVD
Panasonic RP-56 DVD
Paradigm speakers throughout - Monitor 7 Mains, CC270 centre, APD 170 surrounds with a PW1000 Sub.

I've already bought the RS 4050 SPL, and have been poking around local shops for the 1124! I'm waiting until I get the carpet in and room treatments up, then am planning to undertake calibration with the help of you fine folks here at the Shack!

I look forward to being part of a great community of enthusiasts!
