Indeed, and that's the point. The speaker interface is considered high level, fed from a very low impedance source into a load that is usually ~8 ohms. The connection operates in the current domain (often tens of amps), but also with fairly high voltages present (often up to 100 v). The amount of induced voltage from nearby conductors on this low impedance,
high level connection is quite minimal.
But , if someone wants to run speaker wire in conduit, why not.
