Thumbs up Hello Everybody

My name is Chuck and I hail from Marietta, GA.

First, let me say thanks to Sonnie for creating this forum (and its predecessor). It's what led me to the DSP1124P and a very pleasing improvement to my sub-woofer installation.

Like Sonnie, I grew up a country boy in the south but somehow managed to find my way to towns and cities like Mobile, Chicago, Dallas, St. Louis and now near Atlanta.

I've been in and out of hi-fi since the 50's (along with ham radio and a lot of related electronic stuff). We've pretty much always had a "decent" sound system starting with DIY JBL corner horns, Harmon Kardon amps and a Weathers turntable, and progressing (or regressing) over the years with components from Garrard, Luxman, Bose, McIntosh, Nikko, Belles, Sony and Pioneer. We dabbled in surround sound for 10 years or so with a simple Dolby decoder but didn't get serious until last year when we decided to "do it right" (mostly more, maybe a little less). Our current HT setup is in my profile.

I spent enough time in school to get a post-graduate degree in EE but spent most of my career doing technical work, sales and consulting work in the I/T industry.

A quick scan of this forum tells me it's off to a terrific start, and the quality of the posts looks really good as well. I look forward to sharing what little I have learned but mostly learning more from you good folks. Thanks for letting me join this journey with you!

Chuck
