Re: Replacement amp?

So, I found a vendor (ApexJr.) who picked up some surplus M&K sub amps (with higher wattage than the original), and I bought one.

Once I started to test the amp before installing it, I realized that the woofer is a dual voice coil. Incidentally, I hooked up the leads to one (side?) of the woofer and tested it to be sure I hadn't blown the woofer. It pushed fine, so I'm happy about that.

My question: since my amp only has one set of leads, is it bad/wrong/ill-advised to just hook up the single +/- leads to the woofer? What are the other options? Are there DVC amps, or just two amps for a DVD? Help!

As far as I can tell, my original M&K amp appeared to have two sets of leads rather than two discrete amps.

Sorry I'm so dumb, but I could really use some help so I don't destroy what's left of a great old subwoofer.

Thanks,
Phil
