There are actually a lot different than the Avalanches. When Dan designed the motors for the Avalanches, cost was more of a concern and a lot less steel was used, the Tumult/XXX motors have alot more steel in them, higher motor strength and much more mechanical clearance.
The port is about 40in2 I think and about 60ish long, it's been a while. That may seam small, but all edges are rounded inside and out, and there is no port noise.
They were being driven by a pair of Peavey 2600s (2600 watts each bridged @ 4 ohms). I had to upgrade the internal circuit breakers to 25 amp units as the stock 19 amp ones would pop when I really put a whooping on them. I had dual 40 amp circuits run just for the sub amps on #8 THHN wire in my old house. I just moved to Germany and am looking at 230V amps. The Crown XTI4000s may be my next purchase in a few days...
