Hey Vern, welcome aboard.

I used to have a Mits. 55805, but it served me well until I sold it, so I can't help you there. I can tell you that there are a lot of Mits experts over at the HT Spot -- which I frequented a lot until they started charging a subscription fee. So if you are desperate, that's an option for advice. But you sound pretty handy, so I would probably contact Mits for a copy of the maintenance manual and you can probably figure out which board is giving you fits and replace it.

Sounds like one of the amps controlling the convergence failed. Based on what you said about hitting it, it is probably a power or output feed from that board that is disconnecting or shorting. It SHOULD be an easy fix for a technician, but I have no idea what it would cost, since it has to be on site. Call Mits and ask, it can't hurt and it may be covered under warranty. Worst case, they can probably steer you towards the right parts/manual.

Best of luck,
Anthony
