Yeah, I do think you could, but again if you feel the sound is fine, maybe listen to it for a while.
If you've used all the headroom in an amplifier, the signal will clip and you'll hear distortion. But in most retail subs, they control this and as such the signal is compressed when it gets to that level.
If the subwoofer trim level on your processor seems reasonable and as you say, the sub amp is only at ~1/2, then you're fine. I was just raising a flag.
