The blurb that caught my eye was:

*Dolby Digital Plus can support more than eight audio channels. HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc standards currently limit their maximum number of audio channels to eight.


8 freaking speakers.. I like that word "currently".
Heaven knows the standard will be 121.4 some day.
