| Question on proper volume levels for testing I apologize if this has been asked, but I searched all over and I appear to be the only dumb one with this question:
My sub is connected to my BFD, which is connected to my receiver. When I use REW, I connect the soundcard to the BFD, and remove the connection to the recevier (unless I'm mistaken already). When I do the setup for the REW, i.e. levels, calibration, etc., how high should the volume knob be on my sub?
Or am I missing the point? Should it be set to whatever it needs to be so that the Radio Shack meter reads 75db?
Assuming then that I finally manage to EQ the sub (if I can get the above questions resolved), when I go to re-integrate it with the rest of my system, which device do I plug the external sound card into at this point to run a sweep to say 200hz (or higher?) to see how the sub matches with the other speakers (I'm guessing the receiver at this point)? And what volume level should I run these tests at?
I feel like I may be making a lot out of a nothing issue, but for some reason I'm having a mental block on these items. Thank you in advance for any advice. |
