| Re: HT question There's an actual science about this, it has to do with how your ears are more sensitive to certain frequencies at various decibel levels. Read up on Fletcher-Munson, Steven's Loudness Curves, and others.
Technologies like Audyssey are working to make sure your speaker sound as good (or bad, I guess) at a low volume as they do at a high volume.
