for instance in this first graph......whats the right way to approach "the set target level", before running the find filter peak..?

I prefer to set the target at a good half-way point between the peaks and depressions, and equalize from there. However, I’m typically manually equalizing, and I’d apply some boost to the depressions.

If you’re intending to let REW ato-equalize, you probably have the target set about right

#1: set target level to 72 dB to level down frequencies to match the very low level between 20-27hz?
or
#2:Leave target level as in graph and do nothing about the missing low freq?

It’s a fairly narrow dip, probably won’t be noticed that much. It’s too deep to try to equalize up.
