Hi all
I am finally getting around to putting together a post on my T-2000 build. This is the first larger post that I have put together so hopefully it will not look to awful!
When I started this project my goal was to design a decent sounding sub mainly for HT but with the ability to do a decent job with popular music. Since all TV/HT watching is done in our living room which attaches to the dining room I needed something that would look good and fit in to the room. So... no 8' tower with multiple drivers sprayed black! I had a very specific space that the unit needed to fit into so I had to sacrifice some low end performance in order to fit into the space.
After doing a fair amount of research I decided on the TC-2000 driver due to cost, performance and the beautiful aluminum cone. Again, before this turns into a threadcrap about performance technicalities let me say again that this project was a
mix of aesthetics and performance.
I used a Behringer EP1500 amp with a modded clean box for power (have not modded the fan yet).
At this time I do not have any equipment to measure actual response, all I have are my ears. According to my ears it sounds great! I am very happy with it. Rumbles the house during movies and hits cleanly even with music.
The next post will be of build pics. I could go on typing pages of details but I think it might be better to answer questions as they arise.
Cheers
Jon
