Well the problem of REW communicating with BFD is fixed thanks to brucek suggesting my swap of the midi cables. I guess I should have taken the marking on the M-Audio UNO cables stating
to midi in and
to midi out for face value instead of just assuming out ment in as the manual states.
Don't I feel stupid...
