Isn't this a little doubly? The FFT of a FFT should give roughly the same like the original function, so why not use the original sweep response? But maybe it has to do something with data storeage, so what do I know ...

So that means that if I want to change the gate time and therefore the smoothing
for the frequency response I need to choose a different Impulse Response Window
before the measurement because later it cannot be altered any more?
