Hi all
An introduction - I am a bit of a bargain hunter with my AV equipment, and have recently got back into it. A bit of a pain at the moment as the room I want to set my gear up in is full of diy gear for renovating our bathroom! So, I recently purchased some used M&K speakers (4 off K5s a K7, 2 off K4's) and a KX-1250 Sub amp plate and a M&K 12" driver - all in preparation for my first home made sub (of sorts!)
My idea is to use a box volume similar to that of the original sub but in a shallower enclosure - to fit room aesthetics! So I thought I would join to share my experiences from my novice perspective and also learn from you guys!
In fact I have got so excited about building this sub, that I have bought a book on speaker designing and building, ready to take my DIY a step further!
Just for the record, I am running a Yamaha DV-S2700 DVDplayer and an RXV1700 receiver, connected to a Sony VPL-HS50 projector...
I have two little monsters (Girl of 5 and Boy who is 3), and a Wife that tries to keep me in check!
