| Re: Pioneer to stop making plasma panels? PDPs are expensive to build relative to LCD, have higher power demands, use more high current semiconductors, and have phosphors that age. LCDs are generally more stable. The image quality in LCD panels has improved dramatically in recent years, to the point where they are very competitive in quality. You have pros and cons in both. Manufacturers looking to build new plants are not likely to build PDP plants with all of the issues mentioned above. "It is better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it."
