| Hello from RB I am a new member that found you as I was looking for new and innovative ways to trap low frequency in a new theater that I am building. My current theater is ten years old but was fairly cutting edge at the time. My biggest mistake was probably the same mistake most new home theater owners (self designed) make and that was to not properly plan acoustical treatments. The existing theater is a Runco DTV 930 fed now through a DVDO Iscan VP30 with a proceed preamp and proceed amplifiers. B&W 802 fronts a B&W HTM 1 center and HTM 2 rears and a Velodyne 18" powered SUB. The image is still great but cannot do 1080p. Now that the format war is over I am upgrading to a Sim2 projector Triad Gold speakers (9 total 2 pairs for side effects), and 4 Triad 14" subs, Crestron controls and preamp, as well as an acoustically transparent Stewart CineCurve Screen. The room is open in the back and I realize there will never be a way to get it acoustically perfect but it opens to a bar that really makes it nice for entertaining during sporting events. the total size of the room is 17' x 22' If anyone has some sugestions, I am all ears. I am planning on using 703 on the front and side walls as well as some well placed RPG diffusers and base traps in the front corners.
Thanks, RB |
