They are not used for colorimetry and sets vary greatly in the proceedure for adjusting them. One should always refer to the service literature for the procedure. Some sets are very critical, others are not. ]
For electrostatic or electromagnetic focus you can look directly into the lens on the CRT. YOu can also do it on the screen. Blue is only tricky because it is not going to focus as well. Just adjust it for the best focus possible. Ignore recommendations to defocus blue. "It is better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it."
