It is normal to need smoothing for full range responses.
The Alesis responses look better, much more even. You could use some EQ filters to even out the response below 200Hz and/or put in some fairly hefty bass trapping in the corners. The Home Audio Acoustics forum can offer plenty of advice on treatments.
