I agree...this is the key point. It's all about what you like.
And, if you get "the bug" to see if you can make things better, make up a few sample panels and do side-by-side comparisons with your current screen. That way, you don't trash a screen that you know you're happy with for a screen that, to you, is an "unknown quantity".
