Make 'Em Laugh: The Funny Business of America (2009) Three-disc set of the six-hour PBS miniseries. Hosted by Billy Crystal and narrated by Amy Sedaris. The documentary melds performances, biographical portraits, and American history to illustrate how comedy has mirrored the political and social changes in American society. Each hour-long episode focuses on a different genre of comedy, from slapstick and satire to stand-up and sitcoms. Our Daily Bread (2005 -- Germany) Documentary on the world of industrial food production and high-tech farming. To the rhythm of conveyor belts and immense machines, the film looks into the places where food is produced in Europe: monumental spaces, surreal landscapes and bizarre sounds -- cool, industrial environments that seem right out of science fiction movies. In the modern world of high-tech agriculture, animal husbandry and industrial food processing, there's little room for humans -- except as consumers.
