Please pray for Matrix

My cat is around 16 years old. She has had conditions on and off the past few months and recovered several times. She is sick again and I have taken care of her for the past couple weeks attending to her every couple of hours I have been awake, sometimes long nights. She will not eat on her own, but will drink from the dish when I bring her over it. She slowly began to stumble/walk in circles and is now unable to walk. She is too old for general anesthesia and I fear in taking her to the vet she would be very frightened and there would be little they could do. She seems peaceful. Please pray that she will recover or at the very least go without pain. She is all I have.

Re: Please pray for Matrix

My wife had a cat. That thing hated me. Well it hated everyone. It let me pet it 2 days of its life. Once when we dated. Once when she wasn't feeling too good. I think she was saying, "take care of mama."

My wife had that cat for 18 years. The cat has been gone for 4 years and she will cry on a dime about that cat. She loved that cat. That cat only loved her. Towards the end we did camel back, iv and what not. My wife pulled the trigger and was there when the vet let her go. She feels bad to this day. She still had hope and feels bad about making that call. But the cat was lossing a pound a week and was at 4 Lbs. I felt bad for my wife because I couldn't really do anything. I miss that cat even though it hissed at me all the time. Towards the end it came on my chest and let me pet her like my wife did its entire life (-2years another story). Rubing its wiskers on my chin. I felt a connection. I couldnt imagine bonding like that and losing.

A few months later another cat showed up. He adopted us. He rocks and likes me too!

Re: Please pray for Matrix

it feels a little 'odd' 'worrying about a pet when others lose family, but boy do i understand your anguish.

Perhaps the best to do is rather than take her to the vet (which would distress her) have the vet make a housecall?? She would then go peacefully in her natural surroundings with you right with her. that would be very hard for you I understand, but ATM we are thinking of her aren't we?

I do understand the pain, we live in the country and have lost three cats (to snakes we think) in the last four years.

All the best.

Very much so. If she is not better by this Friday, I will see about the house call idea. She seems a little more perkier today stretching, lying down with her head up and such.

Re: Please pray for Matrix

We had a Poodle (Van Tiffin) that lived to be 16 before we put him to sleep. We were very attached. We now have a cat that is about 10 years old (Midnight)... a black cat. I am not much on cats, but my wife is very sensitive.

I hope all works out for Matrix...

Sorry to hear that Steven. It was her time to go. It's for the best, not wanting her to suffer.

Re: Please pray for Matrix

It was peaceful by all means. She waited all night to say goodbye to me the next morning.
