Have been told now that they cannot cure the secondary cancer, They say they can push it into remission with chemo, and that should keep her alive for another 2- 5 years. Sad days for our house this week. On a better note, we can feel the prayer support from all of you. Thankyou.

Re: general well-being

drf,

I know it's not a good situation for your wife and yourself, but that remission of 2-5 years is good news..
Many things can happen in that period of time..new and more effective treatments with advances in Medicine and Technologies..

But with constant prayer and if it's God's Will, miracles can happen..

Have faith...

Re: general well-being

I am far from being religious but I can say this, finding faith in yourself above all others isn't any easy task, I have hit rock bottom before and I know its a hard life at times. But one should also not feel the obligation to go with a group of others find faith, regardless of what it is you believe in. Having love, life, liberty and faith in oneself is the ultimate sanctuary...no brick, or stone will give you that.

Re: general well-being

Thanks Bobby, I have been a dedicated Christian for most of my concious life. Finding the faith is not the problem for me, my problem is letting my earthly instincts (survival, doubt, desire to run away from anything painful) quash my faith and positive outlook.

I think I understand what you are saying, it is hard to be optimistic about cancer when trained professionals who treat cancer everyday tell you otherwise. On an earthly level it is illogical, yet from a religous point of view it is only as minor as your faith (and theological understanding) leads to believe it is.

Please forgive me if I have misunderstood your post.

Re: general well-being

Update:

We went to see the specialist today, after one treatment of the chemo he said there was already an marked improvment. He was actually surprised . As I have been praying fanatically for her to have as little sideeffects from the drugs as possible, I would say God answered those prayers as well as Her side effects were extremely small on the scale of what they could have been and the specialist was also very surprised and said she should expect there to be less effects and the intensity to be less with each treatment.

There is allways an answer to prayers and I thank all of you who have been praying and thinking of us in this time.

I try not to think of peoples age we reading their posts. I find it prevents me from giving the post the due consideration on its merits alone.

Really great news!! Wonderful to hear that the chemo was not too rough and that there is an improvement already. You and your family are still in my thoughts.

Those things cannot. But the Creator of the Universe will. It is where we end up that matters.

Re: general well-being

Excellent news!!

I know it is early days yet, perhaps too early for the long term diagnosis to be fully understood yet, but it does sound as if there could very well be light at the end of ( a not so long now ) tunnel yeehah.

I am so pleased that things are going well.

all the best
