Memorial Day Prayer!

The United States observes Memorial Day on the last Monday of each May every year. This is a day of remembrance for those men and women who have died in military service for our nation.

There have been approximately 3800 killed since the war in Iraq started.

There have been over 1 million who have died in war defending the freedom of the United States.

At this time I pray for the families of those who have lost loved ones and friends who have served over the years. I also pray for the men and women who are serving our country at this moment... and for their family and friends... and for the men and women serving other countries. I pray that God will keep them out of harms way and that they might be able to return home safely and soon. I pray for peace and unity between all nations so that all wars may come to an end. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Everytime I turn on the TV and see service men and women engaged in Irac and the forgotten war in Afganistan I mourn the loss of these fine young men and women. There are still a large number of American troops in Afganistan along with our own Canadian service people. It seems all too often I hear reports of them being kill in road side bombings and then I read the bios of some of these folks and see that we may be sending our best off to fight in these conflicts. I too mourn for their families.
