Another birthday (of sorts) for me.

This is certainly weird timing, as Sonnie invited me to moderate a couple of the forums here yesterday and until then I never knew this section existed. Anyway, today is my other birthday. What, two birthdays? Yep. January 18, 2003 was the day I decided to get clean and stop using dope. Here it is four years later and I'm still around and life has changed beyond my wildest expectations. Since then, I've gotten married, we built a house, and found out 6 months ago that we were expecting our first child after being told we could not have children. Thanks to in vitro fertilization and some great doctors, that wasn't true. Anyway, this isn't a pat on the back, as life still happens and difficulties arise, but God does for me what I could never do for myself, and it's great to be a part of an online community that cares about it's members. And for anyone struggling with problems like this, or if you know someone who does, remember, there is life after addiction and there is hope.

Wow! Congrats Eddie! It's always great to read success stories like yours. I too was a pretty avid pot smoker for years and years and finally gave it up several years ago. Sure messed up my memory, but I'm blessed in so many other ways and truly blessed that I have been unable to stay clean.
