Hello all!

It would appear that I have been neglecting my posting duties here!

Seem to be spending an awful amount of time at work in a rather warm kitchen, 53 celsius (127 farenheit). Doing 12 - 14 hour days is not much fun but beer sure tastes good afterwards!

JCD: The Pogues?? Anxiously waiting to hear what you think of them. I really like the Flogging Molly and have now ordered another cd as well as one by The Dropkick Murphys (got to love some of these names). Had no luck yet acquiring Swamp Zombies but everyone I know is on the look out, maybe something will turn up at some stage.

Yes you have.... but with those kind of hours and heat you might have a valid excuse.

One more hot day at work finally over!! Am almost looking forward to the winter. Couple days off so maybe go to a friends summer cottage, laze around, cook some food on the grill, hopefully the good weather we have been having holds.

I went to the local music store to buy 2 CD's, Rufus Wainwright and The Pogues.. I ended up buying 4 CD's -- Rufus Wainwright/Want One, Agent Orange/Living in Darkness, Violent Femmes/Permanent Record: The Very Best of, and (on an impusle for $3.98) Robbie Williams/The Ego Has Landed -- and TOTALLY forgot The Pogues. Didn't realize until I was already half way back to the office that I forgot. I MAY have said a couple of bad words.

Let me know how you like the Dropkick Murphy's -- they are another band I've been looking at. Much more punk than folk compared to Flogging Molly. BTW, I love all three albums by FM that I've bought.

And I'm not surprised that you're having trouble finding Swamp Zombies -- I did a search and found:
Frenzy of Music and Sound
and Spunk
and Scratch & Sniff Car Crash

I think these vendors all will ship international -- might take a while though.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a reasonably priced CD copy of the one I liked best -- Fink. I also couldn't find ANY place that sold Chicken Vulture Crow on CD (vinyl only).

It's been a while since I've listened to all of these albums, but if I HAD to pick one right now, I might choose Frenzy of Music and Sound.

Side note: I e-mailed the person listed on swampzombies.com -- he only played with them on 3 occasions, but did say the there was a possibility of the band re-forming and that the rights to the music are now held by Mercury.

Been meaning to ask -- why kind of restaurant do you work at?

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Hello!

Forgot the Pogues and still bought Robbie Williams I actually do not go into record shops all that often as I end up buying a lot more than originally intended, kind of like a kid in a candy store. I really like Swagger and now have Within a mile of home on order, at the same time ended up ordering Johnny Cash - Unearthed boxed set, Johnny Cash - V, Dropkick Murphys - Sing loud sing proud, maybe buying music online it is too easy to just add items to the shopping basket?

Actually do not have Permanent Record but think that I have everything else by VF apart from the BBC Live album, maybe need to pay a visit to Amazon again.

Thanks for the links regarding Swamp Zombies, am a bit reluctant buying used cds though! Hopefully the stuff will be re-released as snippets that I listened did sound pretty good.

I work in a 'Finnish style' Texmex place, basically spicy chicken wings, ribs, finger foods etc, not terribly fancy but very popular.

Going canoeing tomorrow down north of Milton, Florida. We use to go every summer and quit going for several years. Great family fun.

This cracks me up. Check out this webpage "Why Bose Sucks Review Resouces." Then check the advertising links at the bottom of that page!

Man, its been 15 years since I've been white water rafting, but I still remember that trip vividly. What could be more fun?

We had a good time... water was very cold but it was hot and the cold water was refreshing. Tooks us about 5 hours to go 7 miles.

Yeah... that site is using Google Adsense which picks up adverising based on key words within the page. Bose is mentioned several times so it picks up Bose advertising. The site administrator can filter out those Bose ads. They probably don't even realize it.

Finally on vacation... if you wanna know, rent A River Runs Through It... I'm the brother.

Anyway, I'm in SW Montana. Fishing has been great so far. Probably my one shot to get online while away.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I've been back from my vacation for a couple of weeks now and today my wife wants to figure out how we can go to the cabin for 4 days before the kids go back to school. We have to plan this between the kids soccer camp, soccer tournaments, her trip with the kids to visit her parents in Ohio and my work schedual. I thought taking two weeks and sending the kids to a couple of camps would satisfy all the vacations needed. Guess not.

Tomorrow is grass cutting day around our place. My kids are looking forward to it!!! Ok, maybe not, but at least they earn money for it.

I guess that's where we messed up. We stopped with the one daughter and I couldn't get her to cut grass if I offered her 100 bucks.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Yes definitely had fun, set the amp up and listened to music for about six hours, a great way to spend a morning. The amp definitely does make a difference to SQ, just need more time to spend listening to it. Always nice to hear some new music as well.

Am eagerly awaiting your impressions of Pulse, still have not bought it but probably will do so in the near future.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

JCD, was wondering when you would make an appearance, hope you had a great holiday! I kind of splurged on music, bought Johnny Cash: A hundred highways, Johnny Cash: Unearthed (5cd box set), Flogging Molly: Within a mile of home, Screaming Trees: Dust, Dropkick Murphys: Sing loud sing proud, Bruce Springsteen: Live 1975-1985 box set. Have not really listened to all of it properly yet, been listening to a few other cds that I know really well just to see how much difference the new power amp makes (Advance Acoustic 405). Even to my untrained ear the difference is quite large and am very thrilled with my purchase. Have to think of the next thing to buy, suggestions?

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Good morning...

A Johnny Cash fan huh... interesting. I'm assuming you have watched Walk the Line.

At least I recognize some of those names.

Jacen, that was a long vacation you took... I wish I could do that. Hope you guys had a wonderful time. Mine are generally 2-3 days here and there. I know the feeling with the dreaded paperwork backlog... almost miserable at times, but a great feeling of accomplishment once caught up.
