Anyone want to help me write my paper sociological theorists Marx and Weber as their views relate domination?

This should get some discussion going .

Is a Marxist society akin to to fundamentals of communism? Or have I got that out of context?

Well, he wrote the communist manifesto, but from what I can tell, much of the propaganda spread about it is half-truths if that much. Not that I necessarily agree with Marx, but his end result was a world where no one worked more than needed and had all they wanted - a utopia, of sorts. It just seemed he relies too much on the good innate of humans to allow such a society to form.

His ideas aren't what is bad, per say, it is the way they have been historically abused...

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I have always felt strongly that there are enough resources in the world for everyone to eat healthy, live happy and enjoy life. But for some strange reason society tends slander in someway anybody who suggest a method for acheiving such a community. And most of the slandering tends to come from developed nations. When was the last time someone in Ethiopia or Rwanda went into detail about the pitfalls if Marxist society?

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I honestly don't know if the world can support everyone eating healthy and living a happy life. Part of this is because definitions of such things are subjective, but also because of human beings new found propensity to waste. Perhaps with massive paradigm shifts in world views such a society would be possible, but I do not think it would allow for the same leisure activities and technological advances as we are currently accustom.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Imagine were we would be with technology if we were to take the last 100 years of military based research and apply it soley to peaceful applications? I honestly believe we would have cures for cancer, aids and world hunger had we not wasted money building the atom bomb, chemical warfare and guided missiles. I do realise this is an Ideal that will never be realised, however I think it is important to keep in mind the posibilities for he human race if we weren't greedy.

Thanks, Sonnie! I am enjoying it.

What if we took the last 100 years of military research and geared it towards AV? Woha!

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Morning all!

So the first edition of the Swamp is winding down??

Been busy as per usual, there is always something that needs doing and not enough time to do it.

Sonnie: Any guesses as to how the Dynamat will affect road noise? I am thinking of doing something in my car using Vibroplast, similar to Dynamat but a lot cheaper, not too bothered by improvong sound quality in the car would just like to lessen the noise from the tyres, especially now as have switched to studded winter tyres.

Our dog the staffy got into a bit of scuffle today with her sister. My OH took her out for her morning walk and normally she plays with her sister when she sees her. Today for some reason the play escalated a bit and our girl now has a puncture wound just below her eye and in her lower lip, also a few grazes on her cheek. Her eye is also a bit swollen, need to watch her closely to see if it gets any worse and if she needs to be seen by the vet. Not a nice situation at all though thankfully she does seem fine, obviously it was not a full scale scrap but still bad enough.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

A little bit closer still!

The dog seems fine, phoned the vet and she said to just try and clean the wound with a disinfectant, easier said than done! There is a possibility that it will get infected, will just have to wait and see what it is like after a couple of days. Am really hoping that the scuffle is just a one off event, am planning on getting a male some time next year and really do not want the two getting stuck into each other. Will have to watch our girl closely now as she is almost two years old and normally there full personality comes to the fore at this stage. Could just be over reacting and it was nothing more than a tiff between siblings.

Second last post. I didn't want the final post so I rushed this one.

P.S sorry to hear about the dogs.

So we get to the final post and Sonnie's not even online to see it.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Hopefully your pup will heal up with no problems. My dog was attacked and killed by a guard dog down the street that got out of his pen. It was like losing a family member. Don't ever want to go through that again.
