Wow... Ushers... that's big time there.

We do have a Members Photo Gallery if you want to us to host your pics for free.

I checked out your thread at NLAV... looks like you got the sheetrock all done anyway. That's a lot of hard work in itself, but you did a splendid job. That was back in June though... done anything since?

Check out Tommy's thread here... he's got one of those record setting mile long threads.... lol.

We'd love to have you post your contruction pics with us in a thread here too.

Sounds great.

I haven't jumped into either HD format yet. I'm playing a little wait and see.

I spent the last 7 months renovating my AV room. It took alot longer than planned due to time restrictions. It's almost done now. I'll try and post some pictures when I can (or you can see a thread I did over at Andews NL site).

I'm going to be upgrading to some Usher's in the next couple weeks, so I'm very excited about that.

Ushers!?!? Which ones? I built a pair of DIY Usher 2.5's. Due to space issues at my house, I haven't been able to fully test them out, but I liked what I heard in the short term.

I'm going to be up late finishing my summer research paper on Micronozzles. When I finish, I get to go home, get some sleep and leave on vacation tomorrow!

Vacation? Man you guys are killin' me with these vacations.

Our phone lines went out last night during a storm and apparently Centurytel doesn't work on weekends. I'll be without my DSL all weekend long. I'm down at my parents using their DSL right now. Living in a small town we are at the mercy of one service provider and we get what we get.

Thanks Sonnie.

Since then I've painted the room and built a screen. This weekend I built the gear rack and soon I'll be building a shelving unit for the CD's and DVD's. Getting near the end of it all - but I've loved the process.

Glen, those are some gorgeous speakers!

I can remember from beginning to end on building our dedicated HT room, while not all that fancy, it was still loads of fun. Can't wait to see your finished pics. I know you are all excited.

Good moaning! Woo-whooooo... I slept in this morning, but gee, feel like I've been run over by a Mack truck for some reason. Got way too much to do to day too.

So Glen... what kind of speaker cable did you get?

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Got it through Doug to match the cables I got for my mains a few years ago. I had him make it up with four bananas on the speaker side and two spades/ two bananas on the amp side. That way I can switch between bi-wiring and bi-amping easily if needed. It just showed up and looks great. Can't wait to try it out.

I'm sure they will be good if Doug built them... he uses some good material and does good work. I've got quite a few of his cables.

Yep

Haven't had much time with the yet though. Just played some of the Norah Jones SACD, and it sounded very nice.

Question for you. I keep getting an email notice everytime someone posts a reply. How can I turn that off. I tried a few things in my settings, but I still keep getting the emails..

Congrats on the Ushers!

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Thanks

I did some more clicking. let's see if that works.

I'm looking forward to putting the Ushers through their paces this weekend. I can already tell they're much more detailed then what I had before with much better bass extension. Andrew had then nice a broken in for me. They are one heavy beast. We carried them out of his house O.K.. Carrying them into my basement by myself was a little nerve racking. Got them in safe and sound with no marks though.

Oh... so you got the ones Andrew had. I'm surprised he parted with them. Good for you though, I'm sure you got a good deal on them... Andrew is always fair.

I'd been a little nervous getting those down a stairway too.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

We made it... we made it!

What a trip... 12 hours... a wild ride too!

When we got into Louisiana it was a disaster of course... construction on I-10 was crazy. When we got to the very narrow bridge work where they had them walls up on both sides... BAM! ... knocked our window a/c right out of the side window. I wasn't sure what happened until I looked back and saw a bunch of cars stacked on top of each other. Of all things they ran slap over the a/c unit. Well... that should teach them to stop when someones window unit fall out of their car. Then it rained like a wash tub being poured on our head... almost flooded the car since we cut out the window for the a/c unit.

But that wasn't all... we almost ran out of gas a couple of times. Our 73 Impala don't get great gas mileage... about 7-8 miles to the gallon. When this big truck ran over another big truck it backed up traffic for 10 miles. It took us 1 and a half hours to get through it... man, we was sweaten the gas. Then we had to stop every two hours since we secretly walled off half the gas tank for our stash. We were feelin' pretty good the entire way...

Oh yeah... I got something hung in my lower false teeth and left them lying on the table at the Waffle House in Baton Rouge. Didn't even realize it until Angie asked me why my bottom lip was sunk in so far. Wayne says they ain't got no extra set, so I guess I'll have to do without for the weekend. I'm hoping we can stop back by on the way home at that Waffle House and get them back. Hope no one found them and is trying to sell them... those things are expensive you know.

Anyways... Houston, we have ARRIVED!

Good morning!

Well... we are just so upset about the a/c unit. Those things cost about 200 bucks at the yard sales and they are a pain to rig up for cars.

Are you being serious? You're claiming that you

1. dropped an air conditioner on the freeway causing a pile up and fled the scene
2. smuggled drugs in your gas tank and
3. were so high that you couldn't find your own teeth.

What of this do you expect us to believe?
