haven't planted anything yet, just mowing and pruning, cleaning up a rental property for my brother.

as we are approaching summer I could probably plant just about anything, so long as we get some rain to make it grow

Just for interest sake, the weather here in Finland has gotten a bit colder and we have snow on the ground, a high of 0 (33F) and a low of -3 (26F).

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I am in the colder/wetter parts of australia :

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...87.099609&om=1 melbourne

we have had one of the dryest winters on record, I estimate we had 15 days when it rained over the entire season. (heres a link to our bureu of meterology). in some parts of victoria that is in the lowest 10% over thast 100 years. Average temps would be between 18 and 30C or 60-86 F. this summer the forcast is for very dry days with average temps about 38 (thats 104 Farenheit).

I think we will buy air conditioning this year

not really cricket, I like aussie rules football and don't mind the rugby but thats about where my interest in sports ends, from there its all electronics and music.

Music definitely beats sport though I do follow cricket and also rugby (union not league). Have seen some of the Aussie rules footie and lets just say it looks very tough!

Aussie rules is very tough, in fact majority of the players suffer pain the rest of their lifes from the injuries they sustain on the field. It really puts you on the edge of your seat when the game gets that physically intense.

My sister recently married a Kiwi (For Sonnie, Kiwi = Someone from New Zealand ).
When I went over for the wedding, I watched a football match. I've come to the conclusion that something happens when the get to the Oceanic continent that makes normal everyday people crazy. It just looks so painful. My brother in law played when he was in high school. Supposedly pretty good. Anyway, he was playing in one match and had someone rake their cleats across his face, catch hi nose, and tear it a bit. Went out the game, got some stiches, and then got back in the game.

Like I said. Crazy.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

the nik-name Kiwi comes from a small furry animal called a "Kiwi" that is native only to new Zealand and some surrounding islands. My father in Law used to play AFL until he dislocated his shoulder and his team mates carried him of the field by lifting him one under each arm. . Were not all that crazy though.

Good morning all! Hope Sonnie enjoyed the geography lesson. A Kiwi is a small flightless bird found in New Zealand and the surrounding islands.

Was pretty sure it was a bird but had to do a quick search to make sure. IIRC the All Blacks logo is a bird. Breakfast = three cups of coffee.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

cool!!

I'll let you know if new years is anygood, if it's not then you'll have time to make other plans.

I could do the same for mondays too if you like, when I knock of work I'll let you know whether it is a good day or not, just in case it is a bad day.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Pretty much as clear as mud Normally after about two months of having Mon & Tue ( Sat & Sun) off I then switch to having Wed and Thur off, previously your Mon & Tue though liable to become your Sat & Sun though probably this will only happen in about three weeks time? . Definitely some great smilies here! Hope Sonnie is following this!

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

unless he starts from the beginning he may need a month of sundays to work it out

Now I know why we have calenders, I could never understand why people needed a calender to tell them what day came next (after all there is only seven of them repeating). now I understand, when communicating halfway across the globe it is important to remember that tomorrow could actually be yesterday, and today could be tomorrow or maybe just last night.

On that note, I need to go to bed before I convince myself tomorrow is Saturday.
night all.

Going to bed in the middle of the day and on a Saturday, most unusual! I suppose that maybe once in a blue moon we may actually be on the same day!!
