Good morning all! Strange weather you seem to be having in Oz, here in tropical Finland it has been raining a bit and the temp is above zero, a bit unusual for this time of the year.

Well we (SA) lost the rugby yesterday, 23-21 against England, not the worst possible result as we fielded a second string side but we still should have won. The All Blacks beat the French, again.

I am off to a concert this afternoon/evening, am actually paying money to see an Aussie perform :raped: , jokes aside, am going to see Nick Cave in Helsinki, am really looking forward to it as he definitely is one of my favourite artists, unfortunately it is not the full line up of the Bad Seeds palying with him, kind of a mini Seeds but should still be absolutely amazing.

yeah, usually the cricket is telecast on free to air t.v.

And I just found out that tomorrow is forcast to be 36 degrees
thats from 3 to 36 in one week, I reckon we must be suffering localised global warming.

Oh well... enjoy the concert Fin.

Good morning!!

Wow! Nick Cave was really really good yesterday. The sound was a lot better than the previous time he was in Helsinki (different venue), well worth it. Need to buy some material so that I can finish off my bass traps, free time is running out!

Good Morning!

It was a tad below 40 here last night.... it was way too cold for me. My body just doesn't seem to move for some reason.

Sounds like you had a great time Fin.

Wayne Pflughaupt and family drove over from Houston, Texas to visit a few days with us. We are planning a busy HT day today. We've already caught a little bit of the David Gilmour in Concert DVD and we watched Batman Begins HD-DVD yesterday afternoon.

Hello all, been another hot day (36 degrees C).

Hello JBL-4645, welcome to the SWAMP. I am only new here also but everyone is terrific and it doesn't take long to feel apart of the family.

Hello drf, looks friendly than most sites I’ve been to where you just get your head bitten off for no particular reason at all. Here it’s just soothingly mellow and calm and mature as well, that’s how I like it.

And just as long as one of us doesn’t come down with swamp fever everything should be cool around here.

As for the weather, its chilly here on the south coast of the United Kingdom today, no form of ice has started as of yet, but shouldn’t be too long now till it does around late December early January 2007!

Good Morning!

Ashbe... have you read the Forum Rules yet? That will most likely explain why things seem much calmer around the Shack. We are extremely strict and we will do all we can to eliminate even minor problems. This is one reason we have more than the usual number of moderators for the number of members we have.

If you ask Wayne he would probably tell ya we got buttkickers and they are labeled "SVS". They were no doubt kickin' yesterday during all those movies we watched.

Hello morning sorry about the slight mild bit of language there mate.

No worries now mate I’ve just read though the rules, Crystal mate no cursing! Gotcha didn’t know it was that sensitive.

As for the butt-kickers I have placed a or rather held a 15” JBL professional driver in my hands and placed it against my chest, the strength of the sound was very scary I mean it was not cool at all, traumatized:raped: that is what it felt like after feeling the low from Star Trek III the search for spock!

...snip...

Yes, most forums don't allow you to further explain if a post is misunderstood, they just assume you don't know what you are talking about and start flaming, here the poeple at least try to work out what you meant.

Well I’ll be honest I have some very wild ideas, one of them I’m writing at the moment, yet somehow I think I’m going to need some type of diagram, a basic diagram to show how this works, if I can get the drawing feature to work on the pc that is!

Some of the ideas that I have posted in the past, resulted in a flame war, I go about sharing these simple yet elusive ideas that elude them, or is it there ignorance! Well there are better places where some will think wow; I didn’t know that was possible.

Well just watch out for the “Surround the next affordable evaluation” well not quit evolution but in all practical proposes it does work.

Morning the slat mine, I don’t follow, but if I understand you, you mean to say you work in a slat mine, I thought salt was on the surface?

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Sorry to hear that Fin. at least you will get some more time of next monday right?

The day is over here so i'm of to bed, gotta try a get my brain rested before I abuse it again tomorow cleaning up the corporate aftermath.

Ashbe, I had a look at your post regarding surround, must admit you have me a little intrigued. still theres nothing quite like thrashing out theories and the relevent science to better ones knowledge.

edit: Ashbe, there are extensive salt mines around Finland (or is it greenland, someone correct me), took me a bit by surprise when I found out too as Australias salt is all on the surface also. Apparently the salt is a deposit X depth as a result of previous global warming and what used to be a sea around those areas.

Good morning!

Wow Fin... that was overwith quick. I'm only working two days this week myself with it being Thanksgiving week. We'll be extremely busy next week through December though.

I can assure you, flame wars will be shut down quickly here at the Shack. However, when you have an idea, you will invite a flame war if you assume people are ignorant or a place is not as good as the next just because some don't buy into your ideas. So we have to be careful in this regard as well.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

drf Fincave

Blimey I didn’t know he lived in Europe! So if it’s not snow it’s salt, well too much of it is not good for you, I mean if you like fried eggs in the morning then too much slat is a bad thing. But I tend to moderate slat, a little piece once a week or once every two week!

The idea is a old theory of mine and it came to me right out of the blue! Films like Saving Private Ryan, Flight Plan, E.T. Goldeneye, and Hollow Man are just some of the soundtracks that I have listened too.

I’ll let you in on it then, it’s where there are two signals that are played in-phase and with the same frequency response, this usually happens between the front left and rear left or the front right and rear right.

Thou re-recording mixers maybe trying to create or attempt to create a middle sound illusion along the sidewalls, it is some what weak sounding too me, but I’ve figured a simple viable solution that will enable the user to take advantage of this signal.

Sonnie

Let me assure you and everyone else reading this, it is some simple even a child could but it to together! LOL, Well almost it is simple believe me, I’m starting on the diagram now and it is very complicated to but together. Hopeful it will upload onto this site when it’s finished.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

There are no salt mines in Finland to my knowledge, our salt generally comes from Tunisia. The term 'back to the salt mine' means back to work, at least for us South-Africans. I do not work in a salt mine, I work as a chef, sorry for any confusion.

Sonnie: Yes, six days has gone by in a flash! Have a lot of work ahead as may have to be working in two restaurants at the same time, will not have the problem of figuring out what to do with my free time as I probably will not have any!

'No man is an island' or so the saying goes, though it would appear that you may well be! It took me a few attempts to get myself on the map, trial and error is all the help I can offer, sorry!

That’s usually the case with servers for these forums sites, oh well at least I will know what is happening next time around then.

Still haven’t figured how to put myself on the Google map yet, I mean how hard can it be?
