After 30 seconds of self reflection, I'd have to say I'm a 7/10 as well. If I dind't have to work, I wouldn't, but since I do, I don't think there is anything else out there that I'd like as much and get paid reasonably well.

Helps that I work at a good firm.

Good Morning!

Actually it's time for me to get a few hours sleep.

Maybe I can make it through tomorrow.

Watched Miami Vice and Superman Returns tonight. SR had some serious bass... I mean awesome! But Miami Vice won the show of the night. Excellent movie and I can't wait to watch it again. I went ahead and ordered the HD-DVD.

Afternoon all! Major plans??? Nothing more radical than work for me this weekend am afraid to say. Probably in for a very busy weekend with people having their Christmas parties and then loads of people doing their Christmas shopping and not bothering to cook, we are always very busy at this time of year.

We are usually pretty busy this time of the year too, but not the same kind of busy as you will be. Yours is physical and mental... ours is really neither, just more loans for x-mas.

I cooked a big ole thick and juicy steak for us last night... I mean thick. Them thangz wuz good!

Hmmmmm, red meat

meat makes the perfect side dish to pasta or vegies.

hi all, have a good weekend? I did, after we got over the 42 degree weather (107.6 degrees F)

Gee... scorching weather there. We've been in the teens at night... 40's during the day (F). Super cold for us.

We had steamed broccoli and a salad with some awesome French bread (the frozen kind).

I love pasta too... with shrimp especially... yummy.

My wife does the best garlic prawns, she sticks a whole heap on skewers and lets them maranade in her garlic brew overight. The fridge stinks for days but its worth it for the meal.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Good morning all! Survived another busy weekend at work and now have a couple of days off. Have to try and get some Christmas shopping done, never a fun experience for me, just get too irritated with the hordes of people.

Red meat has to be one of the nicest things to eat! A juicy steak with wild mushroom sauce with the mushrooms being self picked from the forest, a green salad, garlic bread, roasted sweet potato, gratinated veggies, a bottle of red wine and some good company is about the perfect meal IMO. Now I am getting hungry and it is only 10:30 in the morning!

We need snow!!! It is december and there is no snow in 'tropical' Finland, it is also +5 (41 F) with sunrise at 9:30 and sunset at 15:00, not much daylight at all.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Lack of sunlight is what probably bother me most about the Finnish winters, even when it gets really cold it is not bad as you can always dress up really warm, no way to really make up for lack of sun though. During the summer we have the opposite, nothing but sunshine, it is often light enough outside to read a book at midnight!

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Good Morning!

We had another big ole thick juicy steak last night at a place called Conastoga's Steak House... a little hole in the wall restaurant, but a fine steak. We haven't been in several years because it's so far away from us. I forgot just how good it was until last night. We had a small x-mas party there.

Going to have some new shocks put on my Hyundai Sonata this morning... a major recall that a lot of people have been eagerly awaiting.

Have a great day!

Good morning all!

Everyone gotten all their Christmas shopping done? Thankfully I have bought basically everything that I need, I really dislike entering any shops at this time of year, not a keen shopper at the best of times and Christmas is just madness in the shops.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I just get frustrated going shopping at this time of year as there is always so many people in one place at any given time, also most people seem stressed out and not enjoying themselves. The only shopping that I really enjoy is music shopping, bookshops are great as well and hifi gear, though definitely more money is needed to do it properly.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Remember, is doesn't have to be worthwhile to be posted here...

Shopping? I love it as long as I don't have to walk all day long in a big mall. I can stand a few hours though. There's just not much I ever buy in stores anymore because it seems like you can find nearly anything and everything cheaper on the Internet somewhere... and save taxes on much of it as well.

I agree about shopping at this time of the year... it is unbelievable! Lines everywhere you go... crowds and crowds of people... and the noise... uggghhhh!

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I guess with only 20 million people in the entirety of Australia (about same size landmass as North America(not including hawaii or alaska)) our shops won't seem quite so congested.

I still don't trust internet shopping, there aren't too many online places in Oz that advertise a physical address, and that gets me concerned. Also if something goes wrong I like to know I can take my gear back to a bulding and actually talk to someone in person, then I leave knowing there and then where I stand, rather than waiting for an email and return post and the confusion that can ensue from that.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Good Morning!

We've been fairly fortunate thus far with our Internet shopping. There are a few companies we use over and over... and many have protections in place in case you get scammed. I like Amazon.com and have had good success with them. PayPal also has some pretty good protection as well... not to mention if you use your credit card you are further protected.

G'day all, well, the fires in victoria are well and truly outa hand now! over 500,000hectares now ablaze and warnings that it will keep burning untill winter next year :holycow: :raped: .

heres a current map: all that is marked black is either burnt or burning.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Frightening! Cannot even begin to contemplate what an area the size of 500 000 hectares burning must be like, really hope they will get it put out. There were forest fires in Russia this past summer and for weeks on end we in Finland could smell the smoke and fires, the fires were probably at least 400km away!

It would appear that certain words get censored, fright, frighten and then what I wrote, slightly amusing . Using the preview option I see I cannot even use the word I want in its basic form, most weird. What is up Sonnie? F-R-I-G-H-T-E-N-I-N-G stuff! I see I can use my 'naughty word' if I hypenate it.
