Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Funny stuff... interesting view actually.

You got it right... congrats on the first flip with a pic...

We have to set some rules like you can only run from the 24th post on. This means you cannot run from post 22 or 23. Example... I get to #623 on this page and think okay... I'll just go ahead an post 623, 624, and 625 and then the next post will be the flip. Now I've made 4 posts in a row just to get the flip. So you can post no more that 3 in a row including the flip. If you post on the 23rd post on the page, someone else has to post before you can get the flip. Oh yeah... there is the flip title when we get to 1000 posts. Then we start a new thread and retire volume one. Watch out for flip snipers!

so a spaming of post from here until the next flip would be frowned upon?

Sadly, I was already aware of this unfortunate fact.

It's very sad The last thing we need to do is confuse teeny-bopper bands with socio-political parties of the early 20th century.

I thought N-Sync was all overwith... isn't one of their old lead guys out on his own doing big things now? I think he as done pretty well actually... maybe even been in a movie... seems like I watched a movie with him in it, but maybe my memory is playing tricks on me...

Oh yeah... you can't have more than three flips in a row.

We need to get the list of rules set and then I need to go back and edit the first post of the thread with the rules... so we can point others to it when needed.

Spanking is now illegal.

I imagine that means long queues and inflated charges.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

why? if you go past three flips does it become a flop?

so then does three flops = a flap and if so how many flaps to get to a flup?

so if we made it to ten flups it would be 270 flips or 0.27 of a kiloflip.
conversely 90 flips would = 10 flaps and that would = 3.3 flups. But those who haven't converted to decimal system probably need to see the flups as a factor so we could call it 3 1/3 flups or 3 and R 33.3% flup. So basically for ever ten flups we have to post 270 pics.

Thats a lot of pictures to post, now I understand why we are limited to three flips.

Are these available in metric threads?

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

yes, although some poeple prefer the decimal system, I think threads like this should have elements of both imperial and metric, or at least access to a comprehensive conversion chart for quick reference.

for example if you were cooking some biscuits and the recipe said set the oven to 270 degrees, yet we fail to convert to celsius, we would end up with very black biscuits. I just don't want to see people eating black biscuits becuase they didn't divide their number of flops by three, or worse, from imperial to metric.

Just trying to work out the three flips rule,

it's simple, if we are limited to three flips per person, no-one has to suffer burnt biscuits or post 270 pictures.

At least it seemed to work on paper

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Flippin' 'eck, Lad! The exact timing of the final flip before the inevitable flop takes place is not to be ignored. Statistically speaking I can't see how you can guarantee the ownership of the flip in an arbitrary sequence. Post flip posting of an image will then flop badly. One might even be accused of descending to the "me-too" syndrome for inappropriate behaviour following a post-flop display of poorly timed and therefore quite unnecessary Gifary. Rules are rules! (even in the virtual arena)

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I can statistically garuntee that 11 times out of 10 a picture posted post flip posting wont upset the pre flip posting rules. (I think something just went pop inside my head )

In order to flop the post must be left flapping not mearly just fliped.

Thankyou for bringing me up to speed.

I was becoming quite concerned about the synchronicity issue.

BTW: Is that a one year guarantee?

And now for something completely different:

Anemometer installer sets alarm bells ringing!

I think you guys are flipped out.

So how high do the winds get before bell #1 rings, then bell #2 and #3... or do you need three bells to warn you at once?

It's a tornado warning system. The bells are just in case cows flying down the road wasn't enough of a warning.
