Having stuffed the chatbox with technical graphs I thought another image would seem simply too ostentatious.

This is the mind expansion lounge...

Where warm air is allowed to escape freely into the atmosphere sans CO2.

Global warming has no meaning in these gently rising bubbles of joyful insanity.

Where corrupt politicians hold no sway and big business cannot dump their garbage ads onto our battered senses.

Where the traffic roar is long forgotten. We dawdle to the soft fall of leaves in a quiet lane.

Where time stands still, unburdened by aching centuries of human toil.

A bird sings....

BANG!

But it wasn't my turn!

Having a a fliptop head also offers safety advantages under these circumstances.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

having a fliptop head means you can brush your bottom teeth and your top teeth in the one direction without turning your toothbrush around. Unless of course your a southerner, in which case you can probably brush all your tooth at the one time anyway.

is a bobble head anything like a poppet head?

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

he guys. just thought i'd let you know, a guy just emailed me and wants me to build his new home in N.C. with a dedicated home theater in it. he will be building this spring. i got alot more research'n to do. on the theater building part. i of course won't have anything to do with the elec. system or equip. in the theater. but from what i have seen his current set up is very, very high dollar, top shelf on everything. i'm looking forward to seeing this thing get set up.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Hey Scott, decent project? I love being able to do things like that for friends, especially when it comes to the real technical aspects. Hope it al works well when you've finished.

o.K, heres a statement:

You need Inteligence to understand physical existance, but you need wisdom to understand life.

So:

do you agree? disagree? or don't know?

And if so:

are inteliigence and wisdom mutually exculsive? at least to a certain degree?

Yes! (according to my wife)

It is assumed that students are intelligent. Most just seem to have good recall.

My wife insists that students are the last people on earth you should ever ask for help in crossing the road.

Wisdom is something uniquely supplied to women by the bucket full.

Men are far too busy pretending to be clever to gain any real wisdom.

It's all ego. No real depth of understanding as to what is really important.

This is the world's best joke on men. Without the wisdom supplied by women, men can never really progress.

The glass ceiling is far more costly than fighting terrorism, wars or global warming.

The glass ceiling directly causes terrorism, war and global warming.

Intelligence?, I would have though that to understand physical existance is to purely exist, to understand life is to be human.

No, I don't think that they are mutually exclusive, you just have to be alive and human

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

What are you guys talking about?

I understand that I physically exist, but I'm not intelligent by my definition... and my measure of wisdom is minute... and I don't completely understand life.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

interesting, my intitial thoughts were:

To understand cells, molecules, plasmas, etc you need inteligence. But to understand conscious life (inteligent existance) you need wisdom.

it's pretty interesting interesting the many diferent ways we interperate the one statement.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

You need intelligence to solve a problem.

You need wisdom to interpret the results.

Wisdom may well stop you trying to solve the problem in the first place.

You may use your intelligence to rise to the top in business.

You lack wisdom if you choose a worthless or unethical business in which to aspire to leadership:

Tobacco, waist foods and drinks, bottled water, weapons, property development, religion, politics, advertising, etc.etc.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

IMHO.... you can't learn wisdom. wisdom and 'book smarts' are two completely different things. some say einstien had no wisdom, but he was book smart. he had to have someone tie his shoes for him. so, is that saying he was so smart he was stupid?

i have a step-son that is probably the smartest person i know, he could build a space shuttle if you tell him to. but just to sit and try to talk with him about anything non-technical, he's the dumbest person i know. figure it out.
