Hello,

well... weeks half over already... it has been NASTY again.

When I get to the stage where everything sounds old and all the new music is bland or just blantent ripoffs of the old stuff I tend to find a genre I don't usually listen to and then go back a decade or two and search. currently I am in a early eigthies pop type mood. Finding some good stuff by kate bush like "running up that hill", which was recently redone by Placebo but I think the original is better.

EDIT: I got the flip

I hate to be SALTY, but NASTY was used already, and I liked the first one by Sonnie better.

Note that we have now begun moving vendors to the new pull down option at the top of the forum pages. You will find it between "Shack Shopping" and "Glossary". This will represent a great improvement in the vendor reference database, making it easier than ever to find what you are looking for.

Contact me with any suggested entries, category recommendations, or additional information about the vendors that we have. If you are a vendor and want your company listed, there is an option to provide us with the information.

You guys ever watch much of the BLADE movies? I noticed TNT-HD is running Blade Trinity. These have always been good sound effect flicks for me.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I like it, Its going to take some getting used to but I do prefer it over the blue/grey option.

Hmm.. how long will it remain an option?

I'll probably leave it up permanently unless it gets to be a lot of trouble to keep it updated. I haven't tested it completely, so if you find any quirks, let me know.

I like the black/white coffee mixture. I think it's "Desert sand".

I've actually got to do some more work on that one... update the header and some of the other stuff. Should get that done soon.

Hey... it matches your avatar pretty good.

Thanks Sonnie,

I thought the backwards clock was appropriate considering I usually haven't a clue what time it is in other member's countries when I read their posts.

When one sets a forum clock when registering it always shows a running clock for one's own timezone. Given that there are so many timezones it would be difficult to display local times on a forum .

I suppose somebody must offer free software to show timezones on a row of screen clock dials by now?

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Yeah... I've seen that somewhere. Not sure it it shows all 24 hours, but it was quite a few. Maybe it was 8 clocks for every 3 hours or so.

I think I have all the styles updated now, with the exception of the logo in each one. I'll have to see if I can get John Simpson to color match the other three for us.

Okie dokie... we got a Top Style along with the Desert Sand, Crimson Gray and Dark Side. Now I'm gonna do a Psychedelic style with some really funky lookin' colors. Any ideas?

Shocking pink and purple are more or less mandatory.
Orange and bright green too.
A paisley pattern is probably more difficult.

Some inspiration: I had shirts and ties like this in the last century.

Oh yeah... the 1960's Pink Floyd look...

I bet I could work something like that into the groove...

Check out the Paisley Park style... still a few minor things to change, but for the most part it's definitely different. I like it best of all myself.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I used to have a bedspread like this when I was a little kid.

It's only a personal thing but I don't really like dark, heavy bars between posts.

They increase the contrast just a little too much for my tastes.

The paler purple bar at "Submit reply/Preview Post" would be perfect. IMO.

Okay... that's changed... is it better?

I tried several different colors... even the ones you listed above, but I can't find a font color that you can read against it.

I thought maybe if I could find a faded paisley I could use that on some of the solid colored areas... like the user info on the left.

Woah!!! That style has to be older than me!!! i think I like the darkside better.

paisley kinda reminds me of old carpet, and the smell of grandma's kitchen.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Morning all! Have to admit that the paisley version is a bit of a shocker!!! Am currently using the crimson version and I do like it. I had a look at the 'dard side', and it wwas just a tad too dard for me, not the most readable for my eyes though definitely a cool name .

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

When I saw it was called dark side I was expecting (in true Sonnie style) for the backgrounto be the darkside of the moon cover and the rest to be various shades of PINK.

I guess it won't be long before Sonnie does a floyd version.
