Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

You might like the Paisley Shack better than the Paisley Park... I think the tan blends in better than the blue.

You know... on that Dark Side... I should probably go ahead and make that more favorable to Pink Floyd. I'll see what I can do. I wasn't really crazy about the blue on black. Maybe a yellow or orange on black would work better.

Right now I'm stuck on this tan paisley... it is just too cool.

The picture was taken by my wife.
She had a great show of mixed tulips in tubs this year.

Can't make up my mind about the paisley. I like them both.
You're an artist.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Thanks.... it's been fun tinkering with these styles.

I am slam give out. We took the teens from our congregation (church family) canoing today. A 9 mile trip that was supposed to take 3 hours of paddle time ended up taking us 6 hours. They wore us out... and I will sleep like a pretty baby tonight.

So how did you guys spend your Saturday?

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

shopping, we are looking for central heating for the house. We are also looking for a dishwasher and new kitchen stuff. I wish I could spend the money on new HT gear but the missus seems to think a dishwasher is higher on the priority list.

Although its sunday here already, we are going out again today aswell, this time kids in tow. i hate taking them shopping

Is it that cool in Oz? You can have some of our heat here. It's been a scorcher here today... at 4pm it was 104F. We are to a point where there is no cool period during a 24 hour day.

It has averaged between 4-7 degress C overnight here the last week, A little warmer than a couple weeks ago we had some 2 degree nights. we are leaving winter though, spring is just around the corner and I can't wait for those 24degreeC days and blue skys.

I think our heat index is supposed to be upwards of 108F today. There isn't much you can do outside for over a couple of minutes and not begin to break out in a good sweat.

Oh no... that is bad and sad. Unfortunately for me, things started going downhill at about 42-43. It seems it's almost the norm.

Just wait until you are really mature!
You won't remember why you crossed the room.
There will be hair growing out of places you never knew you had.
Or even wanted in the first place.
You start to think a big silver beard makes you look distinguished.

Yup... unfortunately I got all the silver going on myself. Occasionally I'll go into the other room and forget what I was going to do or get. What can I say...

What a scorcher here today... over 100F and heat index up to 114F. Same forecast for the next 2-3 days. I can't walk 20 feet outside without breaking a sweat.

Send rain...

On the opposite side of the spectrum, we've been getting unusually cold weather around here. Yesterday in particular -- it barely cracked 70 at 71 for a high and had as low of 57.

Perfect for me. A little too cool for the better half.

That MIGHT be the reason house prices are as RIDICULOUS as they are around here.

But yeah, I don't mind it at all.

Tomorrow and Friday are supposed to be the hottest days yet. I can hardly imagine it getting much hotter than the last couple of days.

Any of you guys ever tried Rhapsody for downloading music?

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I've just been looking up heat index.

It reads just like a horror story!

I hate heat and humidity even more.

72F is about as high as I like for comfort.

Add a bit of extra humidity and I start thinking about moving further north.

The southern European countries have been "enjoying" 40-45C. (100-113F)

There's no way I could survive that.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Yep... it's pretty much stifling in these parts. I'm not sure I'd wanna be doing too much outside work. I think about those roofers and asphalt paving crews who have to be around extra heat as they work... it's like they are slow roasting in an oven.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

the Last time I worked on a tin roof on a hot day the temp got to 83C (according to my phone). It was not fun and I only lasted a couple of minutes before I had to come down for cool air.

never again!!!

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

106F degrees here today. I went outside a couple of times right in the heat of the day. Wow... it was almost unbelievable just how humid and hot it was... still is for that matter. Generally we will see some upper 90's, but we don't see above 100F that often. The record here is 107F. The heat index was miserable today. This is when it gets seriously dangerous for people working outside.

Who wants the flip?
