Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I just get frustrated going shopping at this time of year as there is always so many people in one place at any given time, also most people seem stressed out and not enjoying themselves. The only shopping that I really enjoy is music shopping, bookshops are great as well and hifi gear, though definitely more money is needed to do it properly.

Remember, is doesn't have to be worthwhile to be posted here...

Shopping? I love it as long as I don't have to walk all day long in a big mall. I can stand a few hours though. There's just not much I ever buy in stores anymore because it seems like you can find nearly anything and everything cheaper on the Internet somewhere... and save taxes on much of it as well.

I agree about shopping at this time of the year... it is unbelievable! Lines everywhere you go... crowds and crowds of people... and the noise... uggghhhh!

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I guess with only 20 million people in the entirety of Australia (about same size landmass as North America(not including hawaii or alaska)) our shops won't seem quite so congested.

I still don't trust internet shopping, there aren't too many online places in Oz that advertise a physical address, and that gets me concerned. Also if something goes wrong I like to know I can take my gear back to a bulding and actually talk to someone in person, then I leave knowing there and then where I stand, rather than waiting for an email and return post and the confusion that can ensue from that.

Good Morning!

We've been fairly fortunate thus far with our Internet shopping. There are a few companies we use over and over... and many have protections in place in case you get scammed. I like Amazon.com and have had good success with them. PayPal also has some pretty good protection as well... not to mention if you use your credit card you are further protected.

G'day all, well, the fires in victoria are well and truly outa hand now! over 500,000hectares now ablaze and warnings that it will keep burning untill winter next year :holycow: :raped: .

heres a current map: all that is marked black is either burnt or burning.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Frightening! Cannot even begin to contemplate what an area the size of 500 000 hectares burning must be like, really hope they will get it put out. There were forest fires in Russia this past summer and for weeks on end we in Finland could smell the smoke and fires, the fires were probably at least 400km away!

It would appear that certain words get censored, fright, frighten and then what I wrote, slightly amusing . Using the preview option I see I cannot even use the word I want in its basic form, most weird. What is up Sonnie? F-R-I-G-H-T-E-N-I-N-G stuff! I see I can use my 'naughty word' if I hypenate it.
