Yes, it is hot here. But then it is hot everywhere. Got this pix from a friend in CA.

That would be Canada, of course, not California.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

GOOD MORNING!!!!!!

where did eveyone go?

What a Saturday I had, three trips to the local tp with ute fully loaded with soil containing half brick sizes chunks of concrete, It was very hard work shoveling. But the front lawn is starting to resemble a domestic front lawn again.

I'm here... :bigsmile"

It's been a lazy Saturday for us thus far. I'm about to head out to a visitation for a deceased. Then we are cooking hamburgers on the grill.

We actually thought about BBQ'ing some chicken on the grill, but ended up cookin' the burgers. We just finished up a leftover tonight... mighty good even if I did cook them myself.

How is everyone doing?? We are starting to get a bit on the cold side here, 12C (55F), I suppose the summer is well and truly over and I did not even make it onto a terrace for a cold one Am off to London this evening, going to see an old friend from back home that I have not seen in about fifteen years, really looking forward to the trip though must admit that London would not normally be high on my list of places to visit.

I'm hangin' in there like a loose tooth!

Still scorching hot here, but at least we got a good rain last night and are expecting more today and tomorrow.

Speaking of which, my son Matthew is 6. He lost his first tooth yesterday and was very proud. He put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy. About an hour after we sent him to bed he came out to the living room almost in tears. He could not sleep because he was so worried that the tooth fairy would take his tooth and throw it away. Poor little guy!

So I quickly slipped a dollar under his pillow and showed him that the tooth fairy had already come and gone, and left both his tooth and the money. We put the money and tooth in his "treasure box," and then he slept quite contentedly.

G'day all,

My son lost his first tooth last week also, unfortunately he doesn't know were it went, it just dissapeared
we think he may have swallowed it.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

O.K, whats with the square eggs?

G'day all, Friday again, I can't believe how fast these last few weeks have gone. looks like the swamp has died off a bit of late. Don't make me flood this thread with pictures or word games to arouse interest again!!!

How about a small competition? who has the most hobbies outside of home theatre?

a hobby can be anything you do a least 5 times a year, requires a permanent setup, requires a costly outlay or something that gets your undevided attention everytime you see it.

Mine: (8)

photography
model trains
electronics
woodworking
anything to do with cars
music (instruments and engineering)
fishing
computers

Wish I had more money for each of them

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

You were in on the square eggs discussion a while back... starting about here. Unless I'm mistaken, that's Naut's son in the pic above with the square eggs.

Hobbies... hmmm... I like to do a few things, but I hardly do them anymore... like fishing and pitchin' horseshoes. I suppose the computer and Internet are my main hobby other than home theater.

Yup, that's Jonathan, my eight-year-old. Both of my boys got a kick out of the square egg "project."

My hobbies sometimes include:

drawing
piano
tennis
badminton
home theater
headphones
photography
golf
