London huh did you visit any museum?

Did not make it into any of the museums, only had four days and spent the time catching up with old friends that I had not seen for many years, about fourteen to be exact. Did go and see the International Press Photo exhibition, stunning photos but some were pretty depressing!

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

hello all, Hi slayer, come in a sit a spell!

I assume some of the depressing photos were some of the war and dictatorship ones. e.g suicide bombings and executions?

These types of photo's have always depressed me, the media these days is getting so bad I hardly watch the news anymore, I just listen to the radio.

which begs me to ask: what is the level of gore you usually see in the news in other countries?
In Australia the news is like watching a cross between CSI and a Quinten Taronteno (SP?) film.

Good Morning...

Holiday for us today... Labor Day... will be cooking a lots of food on the grill today.

Cool pic Fincave... I didn't realize Formula One racing pit stops got to use so many in a crew. Wow... much different than NASCAR.

Yes Slayer... that is the SPL meter you want... it's a good one. Check out the BFD | REW Forum for more info on it. There are several threads on it, plus we provide a calibration file for it from our Downloads page.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

work work and more work . This weekend just gone I did some texture coating to my house, mowed the lawn and edged. Did some weeding. Got prices for fibreglass for my boat (17' runnabout).

Also I have been enlisted to re-install a permanent P.A. moving a semi-temp installation into a full control room and adding a video control centre. Thats going to be fun. I have been given an unnoficial breakdown of requirments which by itself is almost going to require some custom electronics (integrating slide show presentations with remotely controlded dvd players and video faders )

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

First thought was a coffin to bury someone alive... :raped:

Then something to grow a plant in... but what and why, I'd have no idea.

One thing for sure and two things for certain... it's some sort of contraption...

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

All good guesses but no cigar yet! It is not a coffin, nor to grow plants in, nor a convenient way of getting rid of in-laws. It does however have something to do with food, especially from a certain country which just happens to my other 'home'. Keep the guesses coming!!

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Hmmm... it's got hangers in it. Could it be some sort of meat curing contraption?

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Morning! Gee you people are pretty much correct on the contraption's use, it is used for curing meat or sausage and is a delicacy of a particular country. Iirc in the US it is called beef jerky but 'we' use basically any type of meat apart from mutton and lamb. Our version is also a lot more flavourful as we do tend to use quite a lot of spice, the end product is known as .......?

Obviously my photos were not obscure enough as the mystery was solved pretty quickly.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I love beef jerky. I have a dehydrator here at the house that makes pretty good jerky. I season it up pretty well myself. Good stuff, but it probably wouldn't compare to yours.
