| Re: SOBB - Volume One Sunday was actually the first day back for me, today was no fun as we are having problems with staff at the moment, always happens just before the summer for some unknown reason? 1995 2007 | ||||

| Re: SOBB - Volume One I actually got to take Sunday off and spend it with the family. We went to the park and practiced pitching with the boys. We also had a pretty good Nerf gun fight there. It was a great day relaxing and spending time with the family. Work has been uneventful today. At lunch time, I got to play one of my son's PSP games. I actually beat it! Kind of depressing, now I am really bored. I usually have only one cup of coffee a day. Very seldom do I drink more than that. I may have one after dinner, but not very often. | Re: SOBB - Volume One Sundays off are pretty wonderful, unfortunately I only get one off about every six weeks or so. Must admit my ignorance when it comes to baseball, all my knowledge is from American tv and movies. Now cricket is a game I do understand and follow quite closely, at least Test cricket. 1995 2007 | ||||

| Re: SOBB - Volume One Just the opposite here. I know absolutely NOTHING about cricket or test cricket. You will have to explain that to me. We are not too invloved with Baseball. We have seen the Seattle Mariniers a few times, but we don't watch it on tv very often. We are just trying to keep the kids busy with sports. My boys are 9 and 11 and we try and keep them busy. It is just baseball season right now, oh and soccer season. But soccer for my oldest son runs about 11 months out of the year. Great coaches and my son really enjoys it. Doing sports is a great way to keep them outside and off the video games/movies kick. You get more Sunday's off then I do. It was a real treat to have yesterday off. Usually weekends is the busy time to sell homes, so I work almost every weekend and take Thursday and Friday's off. Jeff I'm just an old thug huggin redneck realtor ready to sell you a shack! | ||||

| Re: SOBB - Volume One I do not know how easy it would be to explain cricket, have tried explaining to Finns and Dutch and they just do not get it. Test cricket is just another way of saying international cricket. In short, two teams of eleven players, one fielding and one batting, trying to score more than the opposition. Short games last about 3 hours, the longer version 5 days. Cricket is played in the States but no much, they did field a side for the U21 world cup this year if my menory serves me correctly? My memory is not great USA fielded a side for the U19 world cup! 1995 2007 Last edited by Fincave; 05-15-06 at 07:41 PM.. | ||||

| Re: SOBB - Volume One How do you determine the end of a game? From 3 hours to 5 days is a vast difference in time. Are there quarters or periods like football or basketball? Jeff I'm just an old thug huggin redneck realtor ready to sell you a shack! | ||||

| Re: SOBB - Volume One Had a quick look at a cricket site that I frequent and apparently the first cricket clubs were established in the 1700's in the States. Here is a link if you are really interested http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/usa/...ry/141158.html . There are various versions or formats, the shortest being a match where each side faces a maximum of 120 balls and has to score as many runs (points), as possible. The longest version is the five day game which starts in the morning, has a break for lunch, then another session of play until tea, then the final session after the tea break. Five day games can end in a draw and still be exciting A game ends when a team fails to score as many runs as the opposition and has no batsmen left, or when time runs out, or when the weather intervenes and play is called off. Not too sure but I think that the longest game of Test cicket was between South-Africa and England, lasted something like ten days and ended in a draw as England had to take the boat home (early 1900's)1995 2007 | ||||

| Re: SOBB - Volume One I had this email sent to me today. I read it before, but it is good enough to post here. The Guys' Rules At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down Finally, the guys' side of the story. (I must admit, it's pretty good.) We always hear "the rules" >From the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side. These are our rules! Please note.. these are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE! 1. Men are NOT mind readers. 1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down. 1. Sunday sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be. 1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way. 1. Crying is blackmail. 1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it! 1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question. 1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for. 1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a Problem. See a doctor. 1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 Days. 1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't Expect us to act like soap opera guys. 1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us. 1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one 1. You can either ask us to do something Or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself. 1. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during commercials. 1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we. 1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not A color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is. 1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that. 1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," We will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle. 1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, Expect an answer you don't want to hear. 1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine.Really. 1. Don't ask us wh at we' re thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as baseball, the shotgun formation, or golf. 1. You have enough clothes. 1. You have too many shoes. 1. I am in shape. Round< B> IS a shape! 1. Thank you for reading this. Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight; But did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping. | Re: Chat Box - Volume One A very good morning to all. Will try and purchase a few cables and a soundcard today, the intention being to try and get to grips with REW. It can be expected that the 'most technically gifted person on the planet', ie me, will be posting some rather strange questions regarding REW. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! 1995 2007 | ||||

| Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One Hi JCD, having some difficulty finding Swamp Zombies, will ask a friend to have a look when he is next in Amsterdam, they have better music stores there. Ordered Flogging Molly-Swagger just out of curiosty, will let you know what I think. Flogging Molly are also coming to Finland so if I like the cd I will probably try and get tickets to see them! 1995 2007 | ||||

I'm not surprised about the problems finding Swamp Zombies.. by the time I stumbled on to them in a used CD store, they were impossible to find new since the label had already died. It took a while to find all of the albums that I did. I REALLY hope you like it if you are finally able to find them. Good luck. JCD | |||||
