Hangin' in there like a loose tooth...

I have ended up with an extra long weekend... try a 6 day weekend. I ended up having to let my wife take my car to work today and me stay here for the wrecker to come tow her car to the dealership. Her battery died and ironically the hood latch messed up and we couldn't open the hood to charge the batter or jump start the car. Fortunately it's all covered under warranty... and it got me another day off.

I like some of Hendricks music pretty well, but I would not pay $7500 for one of his prints... and that's just the opening bid.

Wow! just for a photo?

I should start collecting stuff like that. I guess you just never know what will be worth something as time rolls on.

I'm not sure that one would be all that wise of an investment. But... if you were a serious Hendricks fan, I suppose it may be of some value.

I use to collect baseball cards back in the late 80's and early 90's... still got bunches of these things, but a savings account would have faired better.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Morning all! It does appear as though the Swamp is slowing down, maybe it is just a phase. Work seems to be getting in the way of a normal life for me at the moment, too busy and too many lazy people who seem to be happy to do the absolute minimum.

Hope everyone is well here!

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

If the swamp dies, then so will a small part of my social life. I think we need one of Chrisbees' rants/social essays.

Maybe all we need is a decent topic for the conversation to come back. maybe we should discuss the global impact of honesty and ethics in scientific research and development, or the implications of our current understanding of dark matter?

Note that we have now begun moving vendors to the new pull down option at the top of the forum pages. You will find it between "Shack Shopping" and "Glossary". This will represent a great improvement in the vendor reference database, making it easier than ever to find what you are looking for.

Contact me with any suggested entries, category recommendations, or additional information about the vendors that we have. If you are a vendor and want your company listed, there is an option to provide us with the information.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

lol...

Good morning from Alabama

Quote:
...too many lazy people who seem to be happy to do the absolute minimum.
I resemble that remark...

One of our mechanics brought a 99 Jeep Wrangler up to the office yesterday and ended up selling it to me for $2700. He had put a power steering pump and head gaskets on it several months ago and forced a mechanic lien on it... crack-head owner never would come back and get it. I don't understand some folks... this Jeep is super nice... original red paint looks like it was just painted... runs like a charm! It does need a new top, fender flares and a rear seat, and with those items (about $1000 total)... it will be an $8000 ride!

I left it at the office or I'd take some photos and stick'em up here. I took a couple of photos on my phone, but I can't figure out how to get them off the phone.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Yeah... when all said and done we'll have less than $4000 in it and I've seen these selling for $8000 to $10000. My wife is ecstatic about it. She's been looking for a Jeep for several years, but everyone we have looked was either way overpriced or had manual trans, which she didn't want. This one has AT and AC.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

nice find. We've been looking at new cars recently but haven't quite got the cash needed to make the jump. That and I have trouble parting with cars I have worked on for so long (sentimental fool ).

Oh well, it's 6:05 AM sunday here and I think its time I did something other than sit infront the PC.
I might go a buy a laptop so I can sit infront of that instead.

Well I didn't buy a laptop so I will have to sit infront of this PC for longer.

If you ever get a laptop with wireless Internet... you will be spoiled. I enjoy being able to sit in my recliner and peck away on my laptop. Priceless!

the kids what you put in the back of the car. I thought everybody had a set of kids they put in their cars for cruising, sorta like that baby on board sign. I might have a spare set around here if you want some for your car?
