Hey, y'all!

I've wondered what this SWAMP thing was for some time now, but been a little afraid of what I might find inside. Turns out I was right...

Anyways, what's up with you today?

Ooooooh! new personage in the swamp

Welcome to the swamp Maverick, In answer to your question:
When I am standing nearly all of me is up, but when sitting only half of me is up. If I was laying down (which I will be for about 6 hours) non of me will be up. I hope this clears things up a little!

Maverick! Welcome to the SWAMP!

Doc... is that like the half a glass of water? Half full or half empty?

Well... (deep subject)... got my Anthem gear installed last night and I'm actually impressed. I actually noticed a difference between the Denon receiver and the separates. I was thinking the Denon was a little weak for the Martin Logan's when I was crankin' it on up.

Wait until I get my ML center in... although the BA does an admirable job.

Michael... are you trying to delete yourself from work?

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Yeah... "nearly all of me is up..." I guess all of you is up SOMETIMES..

Thanks for the welcome, you guys!

ML and stuff, eh.... I'm getting a new center speaker soon, I hope, if my potential buyer for the old one could just man up and tell the missus he needs a new one.

Oh! On the topic of rats, my SVS killed one of my pet rats the other day. Total ownage. Bass that kills! That's gotta be something the SVS marketing departemt can use for something. I'm thinking of selling the story to them..

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I believe the positive way of thinking depends on whether you are emptying the glass or filling it up. It would be negative to say the glass is half full if your goal is to empty it. Therefore if you are currently drinking and see the glass is half full, you probably need some anti-depressants or similar.

Everybody randomly runs and hides and leaves us wondering why the swamp went quiet. Have a look under your monitor just incase in Fincave is hiding there. I am currently under your keyboard.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Cool, I've always wanted a weird looking guy with a draw-on beard under my keyboard. No sign of Fincave though.

And about glass-filling; even if your goal is to empty the glass, it's not nescessarily a positive that you succeed. If, for instance, said glass is the latest in a series of whiskey shots, said liquid will punish you the morning after. So we must divide and separate the long and short term benefits versus the drawbacks and potential hazards to your credit card and/or bar-bill.

You are above my keyboard and sometimes I actually slam your face into my keyboard...

I thought whiskey glasses were full one second, empty the next.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Fincave is out of hiding!! Now are we talking about whisky or whiskey, there is a difference? I do not much care for the former but have been known to sample the latter on occasion.

Nice to have some fresh fodder in the Swamp. Hope everyone is well!

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I'm good.

There is empirical evidence that shows the bar tab (creditcard damage) is inversly proportionate to bodily health the following morning. And Sonnie is right, a shot of whiskey is never half of anything it is either full or empty. But I must concede there would be times when half full/empty could be considered negative eitherway. For example a glass full of poisoned whiskey is a negative thing, however a half full or half empty glass of said whiskey is terminal.

Well, I really don't care for whiskey either way, so. I'm more of a beer and vodka kinda guy.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Yeah, coffee is a given, I need that to stay awake during the day. I should have something to bring me down for the night, though, I have too many coffee-induced sleepless nights.

So, since I'm the new guy and we were on the subject of goats, what do you guys do for a living?

So what do y'all think of the new trend BEOWULF is starting, with motion-captured rendered stars? I think it sucks, personally, but hey... You get to see a rendered version of naked Angelina Jolie... I'd rather watch faked topless pics...

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Good Morning... Happy Thanksgiving to our American natives!

Maverick... you gotta go decaf after dark, that will allow you sleep time...

Beowulf should be a pretty good movie, but as far as all the other junk... not interested.

I am in the finance business (make loans) and I run a forum. I think I run the forum more than I do anything else... it keeps me very VERY busy!

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Afternoon all. I work as a chef in a popular Texmex style restaurant, well Finnish style Texmex.

Sonnie: I did not know that you were in the loan business, I thought you were responsible for increasing the turnover of speaker manufacturers .
