What are you guys talking about?

I understand that I physically exist, but I'm not intelligent by my definition... and my measure of wisdom is minute... and I don't completely understand life.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

interesting, my intitial thoughts were:

To understand cells, molecules, plasmas, etc you need inteligence. But to understand conscious life (inteligent existance) you need wisdom.

it's pretty interesting interesting the many diferent ways we interperate the one statement.

"Until mankind is peaceful enough not to have violence on the news, there's no point in taking it out of shows that need it for entertainment value." - Clueless

The imperative is to make a subjective study an objective fact.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

You need intelligence to solve a problem.

You need wisdom to interpret the results.

Wisdom may well stop you trying to solve the problem in the first place.

You may use your intelligence to rise to the top in business.

You lack wisdom if you choose a worthless or unethical business in which to aspire to leadership:

Tobacco, waist foods and drinks, bottled water, weapons, property development, religion, politics, advertising, etc.etc.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

IMHO.... you can't learn wisdom. wisdom and 'book smarts' are two completely different things. some say einstien had no wisdom, but he was book smart. he had to have someone tie his shoes for him. so, is that saying he was so smart he was stupid?

i have a step-son that is probably the smartest person i know, he could build a space shuttle if you tell him to. but just to sit and try to talk with him about anything non-technical, he's the dumbest person i know. figure it out.

Yes I want to see a flip image, and I think an image of something rotating (pun on "flip image") should be banned before we even get one posted.

BTW, I agree about not being able to learn wisdom, I also think it isn't something you can acquire over time. I think it is an inherent part of someones makeup. Just like some people are smart and others are average or worse.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

We have just had the warmest and wettest January since records began.
Hardly a frost all winter and only a light dusting of snow back in November.
It has been too wet and windy most of the time to enjoy riding my bike.
