| Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One I came on this forum because I am starving and I haven't been able to go to lunch yet so I thought this would be one of the last places I would read about food.....but no.....I hear about cajun chicken and excellent bistro food.... Excuse me while I lay in a fetal position under my desk.... | ||||

| Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One Wow, what a nightmare moving can be Buyers decided they needed more time to complete as one of them is over in the states, so we extened two weeks. Found out that thesolicitors for the land we were waiting to settle on decided to charge us default interest at over $1000 per week Moving day came and a large truck turned up, the removalists said it was big enough as we only had 45 cubic metres to move, turned out it was 65 cubic and they needed another truck. Moved into rental house and rang our telecoms company to swap over broadband. 3-5 days they said. 7 days later with only a CDMA modem for internet and they couldn't install ADSL at the premises as the exchange was full and the other spare was not broadband enabled. Nearly freaked as I need always on internet for my work. Found out the best I could get is ISDN, better than nothing and nearly useable so they agreed to waive costs for installation. Just 7 more days for a technician. Finally got ISDN installed yesterday and the internet account set up, only problem, the internet account wanted 72 hours for verification, rang telecoms and gave them my cc details to rush it through, then had to ring tech support every hour to get them to reset the account as it was on a placeholder account until this morning. Now sat here typing away whilst downloading an 28Mb file that windows states will take over 1 hour to download. Anyway, glad to be back on the forums, will talk more now. At least the plans for the house have been approved by the body corporate and building can commence later this month See you around | ||||

| Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One Knocked something together, can't stand listening to TV speakers anymore At least we managed to keep most houselhold items in their boxes, so we don't have to pack all the little bits up again, and it gives me chance to buy more DVD's as I can't find my old ones ![]() | ||||

| Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One Hello all! Finally have some time off from work. One week starting today and nothing better to do than watch football, listen to music and maybe watch a movie or two, absolute bliss! Just have to watch myself as normally when I have time off I end up buying a new toy or something. 1995 2007 | ||||

| Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One Is there anything worse than a cold in summertime? Spoiler Must have caught something on my way back from Austin. On the bright side, I have abs of steel from all the coughing and sneezing I've been doing. Well, time for some liquid death (NyQuil) and a night of sleep. JCD | ||||

| Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One You guys be thinkin' about me today and tomorrow. My 16 year old daughter Chelsea, her girlfriend Cami, and myself are headed for Valdosta, Georgia to Wild Adventures. It's a mini Six Flags of sorts. Supposedly we will have high speed Internet in the room, Holiday Inn Express in Lake City, Ga. It will probably be late tonight before I'm able to get online though. We are headed straight for the park and will check-in late most likely. So... not sure if this is two days of fun.... or two days of misery. ![]() The beach would have been much more relaxing. | ||||

| Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One Oh lordy, lordy, lordy.. if they are like the 16 yr old girls I've known, you're in for a roller coaster ride without even going to the park! Your a brave man Sonnie. JCD | ||||

| Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One Well... that last ride, Blackfoot Falls, did us in for the evening. When I sat down next to a kid that I could ring out a 5 gallon bucket full of water off him (he was completely drinched)... I knew then we were gonna get WET! Uh... immersed, baptized if you will, totally soaked. It did feel so good I made another round... didn't even have to move for the second ride, and the girls road it 5 times... lol. Can you say water logged? Our shoes are in the dryer now... clunkity clunk they go... but it's the only shoes we got other than sandals and those don't do so well walking 10 miles in a day. It's been fun thus far... the kid has really come out of me today. I'm surprised I don't have something out of place on my body. Some of those rides need chiropractors at the exits... at least I'm thinkin' that's what you'd need... don't go to them myself but my mom and dad seem to love them if nothing else but for a partial massage. Personally I'd rather pay for a full blown massage therapist. Tomorrow will be a full day of it. I'll be toast by tomorrow evening. | ||||

| Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One Sonnie, how did the weekend go? Have you recovered yet? Forums looking good with the new injection of blood into it. | ||||

| Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One Thanks Steve! I do believe we are moving forward rather well... especially considering we've only been up for about 9 weeks. Yeah... recovery wasn't all that bad actually. The last day ended earlier than I expected it would. They were give out before I was... lol. We made it back to the room by about 7pm or so. The drive back was long, but not too bad. I crashed myself Saturday afternoon for a few hours. I'd say all in all it was a good trip. Two boys probably would have been much worse. | ||||

| Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One ooh... that could be painful for me. I don't know though... a day or so might not be too bad. Sure wouldn't work for corn on the cob huh? That was probably the extent of our cooking for he holidays. We might throw something on the grill Tuesday or we may go over to some friends and hang out for a while, but nothing big planned. I'm not much of a holiday celebrator anyway... call me the scrooge I suppose... lol. | ||||

| Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One Just got back from a weekend on Lake Oroville. My brother in law just bought a summer house and a patio boat for going on the water. The boat is perfect for what I'd want -- inexpensive, canopy to keep out of the sun, small motor so you don't run out of gas quick, spill beer on it? who cares. Had a great time.. didn't catch spit though. I just can't seem to get the hang of lake fishing. Give me a creek and a fly rod and I'm good to go. JCD | ||||

| Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One You are back early aren't you? I figured you'd have off til Wednesday anyway. Sounds like you cut your trip short. You can come to our pond and catch some 7-8lb bass! Pretty nice size shellcracker and bream too... they are gettin' there. If you start drivin' now you'll probably be here by dark thrity.... tomorrow night. heehee | ||||
