Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Hello fellow shacksters!

Why do we have to work? It seems a bit unfair that we need to spend so much time at work just to be able to afford some free time, a strange state of affairs.

Apart from work I have been keeping busy trying to train a dog for shows, it is truly amazing how she becomes deaf in the company of other dogs, must be a loose connection somewhere!

Finland is now in shock again, a second school shooting happened yesterday leaving eleven people dead including the shooter who had shot himself and died several hours later in hospital.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Hi Fin, . I know all about work, it also gets in the way of finding a decent partner.

Nasty news that about the school shooting. As usual everyone will have the answers to why and how to stop them. It is just a shame we don't know what the question is.

Outside of that bleak post I hope your life isn't too bad?

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Apart from the bleak post life is actually very good.

It is currently autumn here and the leaves are changing colour so it looks quite spectacular, also having warmish sunny weather! Time to head out soon with the dog for a long walk, spend an hour or so walking through the forest with her, not the worst way to spend a Wednesday morning!

Hope all is well with you!

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

We got fall coming too. Awesome weather though. Sunny and sharp, with morning fog and truly stunning colours. Definetly time to start staying indoors in the theater, though. I've redecorated, and all I'm missing for a complete setup now is a full HD projector. Other than that I think I'm actually all set! Quite a weird feeling, really.

I'm thinking about getting the BenQ W5000. I have te PE7700 and it's awesome for what it is, but still... I have all HD sources, and I want fullHD/24Hz display capability now. I have the audio bit covered.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

well apart from being told my friend has only monthes to live (cancer ) and that my niece (1.5 years) stopped breathing last night due to fever causing a high temp (she will be O.K), I am doing well. work is looking good, finances are under control for now. The only thing lacking in my life is a girlfriend I can care for and support. Also a shoulder to cry on every now and then would be nice too.

Some one told me this today, problem is if I stop looking its because I don't want one.

Man, I had white wine for the first time today and it has gone straight to my head, yehe woohoo why have I never had this before? Think I will have a little less next time.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I am still around. It has just been a very trying time for me recently. I have just had a week off work and spent time with the kids. That was fairly depressing because I realise that I am not cutout for single parenthood quite yet. I still am not too sure what I am after companionship wise so I am taking things very cautiously on that score. And a close friend has just been given months to live. She also has cancer and that has upset me a little. It's kinda wierd because I would have thought that hearing that news would have bought back emotions from my wife but it didn't, it just hit me with a whole new set of depressing feelings, all off which I don't wish to contend with right now.

Any how, enough of the depressing stuff. There is always a silver lining and life always has some good points to it regardless of the circumstances. I am off to donate some food, clothes or something to a charity because that kind of thing always cheers me up and makes me feel good.

Hope everyone is well. yes?

Dr F

You've got the right idea doc...

We are very blessed here!

I am looking forward to weekend of football. With Bama playing much better these days, it makes it more enjoyable to watch them play. I hope they can keep it up.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Just noticed the reputation thing. Do you think it is possible, given the character of these forums, for anyone to recieve any quantifyable negative votes?

I found a family who can't afford to give their son a computer, he is falling behind at school especially in IT and subjects were a pc with nternet would help. So I am trying to find a cheap computer for them, i hope theres one out there.

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

I have not been scared off, I do not scare all that easily! Work as per usual is keeping me busy, need to find a job that pays twice as well and only requires half the effort.

DRF: sorry to hear about your troubles, I truly hope that things will start looking up sooner rather than later.

(wondering where I got 'reputation' from?)

Re: The SWAMP! - Volume One

Ehhh... I don't think the reputation thingy is going to work out. We were going to try to integrate it as part of the $2500 cash giveaway we are about to do, but I think it is going to be more of a hassle than anything else. Who will give positive rep if they know it may help someone win cash instead of themselves? lol... it's probably a no win idea.

Well its almost the end of the weekend for me .
