College Game Day

I'm watching College Game Day on ESPN. It has the usual commentators, including Lee Corso -- someone I've ALWAYS thought of as a total tool. I mean, come on..

By the time I have started watching the show, it's about halfway through.. they are at the tail end of the picks for the conference champions of the various divisions. I think they were finishing with the Big Ten (most were picking Ohio State to win the conference by the way, although, at least one was picking Iowa).

For the end of the show, the commentators are picking who they think will be in the Championship game this year. Each commentator is choosing their favorites, Ohio State and West Virginia are favorites of a lot because of talent (Ohio) and schedule (W. Virginia).

The last commentator to speak is wack job, Lee Corso. Have I told you how much I hated this guy? Anyway, he's up there and he's talking about his two picks for the National Championship Game. Like many of the others he choose West Virgninia. Their opponent: Cal. And the winner: Cal.

Have I told you how much I love and respect the wise and wonderful Lee Corso?

Go Bears.

Re: College Game Day

lol... he's never been right on his pick at the beginning of the season... it's an omen! Now do you still like him?

Just kidding... but if OSU is losing 9 defensive starters, that sounds like it could be a challenge for them. I'm still thinking Notre Dame may be in the picture, but they do have a tough schedule, as does Cal.

Re: College Game Day

Looks like Corso might have to reconsider his choices.

Is Tennessee that good this year? We gotta play these guys too ya know.

Best game of the weekend.... FSU vs. Miami.

Re: College Game Day

Ok, first of all, barf.

Now, on to commentary.

Ultimately, I think the thing that killed Cal in that game was the QB. Very little college experience and it really showed. I watched the first 2.2 quarters, and he just looked like a deer caught looking in the headlights.

That being said, Tenn had a GREAT rush defense. Neither Lynch or Forsett (both who ran for over 1000yards, well, Forsett was like 999) couldn't seem to find a hole to squirm through and got caught in the backfield a LOT. Pass coverage was also pretty good from what I could tell. Their offense, despite the score, was only ok from what I saw.

I think if Cal plays a cream puff opponent the first time and get a little bit of confidence, they can win this game.

Re: College Game Day

Who's fav team is up this weekend? Bama is playing Vanderbilt... I hope we can handle them okay, although we barely squeezed by Hawaii last week.

This could be a great game: #19 Penn State at #4 Notre Dame

Hey... and our very own Troy goes to FSU for a good ole stompin' this weekend.

But the game to watch will be: #1 Ohio State at #2 Texas

Re: College Game Day

Ouch! My Tigers couldn't quite do it, but it was a heck of a war. Gotta give Auburn credit for a great game. Think Les Miles is starting to figure out why SEC coaches at the big programs get the big bucks? I hope Urb is, though I doubt that Tennessee will be close to as tough as Auburn.

How about Tommy T's comment at halftime about not relying on those "darned kiickers?"

Re: College Game Day

Awesome football today. I actually thought Auburn was gonna put it on LSU, but LSU was tough. I wanted LSU to win, but didn't think they had anything really. Guess I was wrong... tough tough game. If you ever figure out Tubby, you be the first.

Louisville slammered Miami and the Canes fall out of the top 20 for the first time in years.

Michigan blew Notre Dame's hopes of a National Championship. Brady didn't look to good today.

WOW! I bet Urban Meyer wets his pants when he sees the Auburn-LSU game replay.
