| World JR Hockey Championship I suspect that there is little interest south of the border but Canada plays the US today in Sweden. Both teams are considered Gold metal contenders but I think our boys will win this one. ![]() | |||

| Re: World JR Hockey Championship Plenty of interest right here. D-man Kris Russell is a Bluejackets prospect. I've only been able to watch a few replays, but I'm trying my best to keep track of both US and Canada. Seems as if TV coverage is not a priority here. akitaboy | |||

Steve Downie plays JR A for our local team I just hope he can keep his temper in check. The US has a talented team with the likes of the two Johnson lads but they have dug themselves into a bit of a hole. Edit. TSN.ca is doing live streaming of the games on the internet if you want to give that a try.

http://www.tsn.ca/world_jrs/ I've watched some of it that way and it's only about 20 seconds behind... You can watch the game that's on or games that have been on already. brucek

| Re: World JR Hockey Championship Well Canada and the US play again tomorow morning in the semifinal. Canada has not lost a single game at this tournament since 2004 but I am worried about the US stealing this one. They are both good teams so it should be a great game. | |||

| Re: World JR Hockey Championship Well Canada squeaked out a win in a shoot out.The US were the better team most of the game but we got lucky.IMO shoot outs are a poor way to decide a hockey game but we'll take it. | |||

| | Re: World JR Hockey Championship I've always hated shootouts, penalty kicks, sudden death, golden goals, etc. At that point, so much of it comes down to luck that it's just "wrong" that you end a game like that. Especially when you have a championship game. The World Cup is a perfect example. What is it, 2 of the last 4 World Cup finals have come down to penalty kicks? I far prefer the way baseball and basketball resolve a tie game.. keep playing regulation until someone wins. A good compromise is the way college football resolves a tie game. Enough ranting.. Too bad the games don't get more press here in the states. I'd love to be able to follow the progress more easily. JCD | |||

| Re: World JR Hockey Championship They did play a 10 minute sudden death overtime before the shoot out.But the outcome of a team sport should be decided by the team not in an individual effort like in a shootout or penalty kicks. Im surprised that their isn't more media coverage south of the border because in the last several years the US has sent some very talented hockey players and teams to this tournament. | |||
