DIY #$&^%$#

It's always nice to see those neat pictures of DIY projects all completed and looking beautiful. What I would like to hear about are the bumps that occur during the project. The reason that I ask is because while I was covering up my soffits, I put a rotating drill in contact with the cloth (Guilford) and it was not a pretty sight. It is amazing how fast the drill bit grabbed the fibers. Five yards of material wasted! Where is that cursing smilie when you need it?

Re: DIY #$&^%$#

My worst bump was back when I was building our HT room... a huge DIY project. The first day about 2 hours into the project, 10-29-2003, I slit my wrist, went to the hospital and got 11 stitches, and was back within a couple of hours working on the project again. I consider myself lucky, the only thing I felt during the entire process was when the nurse surprised me by sticking me with a tetanus shot when I wasn't looking. Shots don't bother me, but I'd like to know when I'm gonna get stuck.

Sonnie,

They didn't hold you for observation? Usually when someone comes in with a slit wrist, they assume that you tried to commit suicide and ask a bunch of questions. That's definitely not a good way to start a project although it did only cost you some blood

Re: DIY #$&^%$#

Nah... the girl that was running the ER that day took me over to her office and sewed me up. She is my wife's best friend. She would never believe it was a suicide attempt.... instead she would have insisted someone tried to kill be before she would have believed I tried to commit suicide.

There's one thing for sure and two things for certain, if there is a suicide note left near my dead body, somebody better be investigating someone else, cause I assure you I didn't do it...

Here ya go:

Actually, if I did a major ruin like that I think I’d use the “Hissyfit” smilie:
Or the "Crying" smilie:

Re: DIY #$&^%$#

Thanks Wayne. I'll remember these for future use but hopefully not the near future.
