Graphics loading problems

Hey Guys,

I would like to survey if anyone is having any problems with the site in the last week with regard to random missing gifs and jpgs.

The missing graphics is combined with a general slowness in loading.

Below are a few snapshots of the type of problems I'm referring to.

This is posted in several forums, but ultimately we will merge them all together.

If you're experiencing this type of trouble with the site, please comment in this thread.

We're trying to track down the problem, but would like to know how many (if any) others are experiencing this......

Re: Graphics loading problems

I have experienced slowness in the last week, but no missing images. sometimes the page loads but does not fully display for a few seconds. I just figured it was my conection, but maybe not.

That's exactly what happens. With my display, when it does finally load, I'm missing graphics.

Microsoft

I was researching over at vBulletin forum and it seems there are a lot of issues surrounding IE and vBulletin forums. It seems like there are a gazillion complaints about IE for various reasons.

You guys should seriously consider FF... which can do everything IE does, except faster, better and more options.

Yeah I realize this, but you'd have to convince every web site of that fact, because most secure web sites are optimized for IE. When you're dealing with large sums of money, you can't afford to use a browser that may not be supported.

Re: Graphics loading problems

I've never been to a site that FF wouldn't work with and I'm pretty sure Mozilla has optimized the browser to be secure for sites that are optimized for IE... it's how Mozilla works. Actually, in FF I can click one button and it render sites as IE would render them. You could always use FF for the Shack and everything else other than the big money use...

Having both is no big deal... I have both.

Re: Graphics loading problems

I am too slack to setup up FF, in fact I 'm too slack to do a lot of things ATM. Think I'll just wait for IE to catch up. After I finish setting up my desk I might consider some software changes.

Re: Graphics loading problems

I haven't had the image issue. I have had problems with getting in the store and even finding some things once I'm in there.

Re: Graphics loading problems

Yeah... the store is absolutely been giving us fits, but there's not a lot we can do about it except complain to Amazon. We have no idea what's going on with it. We have made a few changes recently on our end that may help, but we are at the mercy of the server that Amazon resides on... and they are having issue with their associates section of that server. We are going to continue to complain to them though. Our sales have really slacked off and it has to be because of the speed issues. No one wants to shop a store when it takes forever to load pages and in some cases they never load.
