I have a pair of 3-way towers that I built a couple of years ago that I would like to sell. These have been my own personal pair of speakers during this time. They are an MTMWW design using the Dayton RS series 10" woofers, 7" midbass drivers and the RS28a tweeter. The speakers have 3 separate crossover boards for the bass, mids, and treble and each has it's on set of binding posts on the back for tri-wire/tri-amp capabilities.
The cabinets are built from 1" MDF sides, top and bottom with all 1" MDF bracing. The front and back panels are 1.75" thick MDF. They are 53"H x 14"W x 23"D. The finished speakers weigh approx. 200 lbs. each. The finish is figured cherry veneer with 4 coats of boiled linseed oil applied to darken the color slightly and to help the grain "pop". There are also 8 top coats of a high quality gloss wipe-on polyurethane. The front, back, and bases are painted with gloss black lacquer.
The speakers have a very flat frequency response. I have had several people compare these speakers to both Krell and Wilson Audio. I am only selling them to finance new speaker projects (it's an addiction!).
I am asking $2500/
pr. for the towers.
Due to the size and weight they are available for local pick-up here in Palm Bay, FL or I am willing to deliver to pretty much anywhere in the southeast for anywhere from $300-$600 depending on location. I refuse to try to crate them and ship them though. I'm afraid it would cost much more.
If you have any questions please let me know.
