| Re: TC-Sounds 2-18" VMP Passive Black how do you know how many PR's you need for a particular driver? especially if the active driver is of a different size. is there a manual that comes with your PR on how "heavy" or "light" you make your PR to tune your sub? | |||

| Re: TC-Sounds 2-18" VMP Passive Black I am no expert, but I believe if your not trying to go to a super low tune, you can do a 1 to 1 ratio, and it will work fine... but it greatly depends on the driver and its potential and excursion. Now you can easily do just fine with an 18" Passive with that 13" driver you bought, and be able to flexibly tune it to your FR of choice. I'll bet you could probably tune down to about 15hz. That was the nice idea of the TC Passives, they were adjustable I could do a 15" TC-2000 with a 18" TC-VMP passive, but best tune would be about 20hz. As far as adding weights to the passive, you just keep adding until you reach your measurement, but I'm sure someone here would have advice for that... I have no clue... I never used them, still brand new... Last edited by Warpdrv; 03-31-08 at 09:28 AM. | |||

| Re: TC-Sounds 2-18" VMP Passive Black I didn't want to split them up, but he's interested in 1, so the other would be available. I was only trying to keep them together, for someone that needed 2, and their hard to find. | |||

One should be more then enough for a 17.6hz tune... I didn't do the math here, but I know nick (here) had 2 of those 15" TC-2000 with an 18" passive each, and he could tune down to 17.5 hz but opted for a 20hz tune. That was built off info directly from TC-Sounds advisement. Quote:
